Food was excellent also.
I did call in advance to let them know a large group was coming, they do not take reservations. We were seated very quickly.
Okay, keep reading if you want the mom by herself with a bunch of kids in a fancy restaurant story…
My whole family was planning to join us for this meal, and it didn’t work out that way. One of our kids was having a rough evening and the decision was made for one parent to stay home with him while the rest of us went out for dinner.
I was so anxious about going to a completely new to me place with three children. I called ahead to get a feel for the environment and how they feel about kids and their chaos. The young woman on the phone was kind and honest. Essentially communicating that they are prepared for kids, enjoy tables with kids, and aren’t chuck e cheese.
I took a deep breath and decided to stick with the plan. I’m so glad I did. The service was fantastic (I think our servers name was Ellen and she was lovely and patient and kind). The bread that they brought to the table was soft and warm and fluffy and chewy and the stuff of carbohydrate dreams. We sat at the fire place and it was perfectly soothing and cozy. The restaurant was gorgeous and fancy and down to earth. (We are wearing t shirts and felt perfectly comfortable next to others in nicer attire).
All of our food before tip was just under $54, comparable in price, but not flavor, to Applebee’s or Chili’s.
To top it all off, at the end of our meal, the manager came over to clear our table and check in. In a rush if gratitude I told him how anxious is felt before this experience, and how comfortable we’d been in the restaurant. He met my vulnerability with kindness and compassion and share that he, too, is a parent of four children and he understood.
Anyhoo— if you’re looking for a great place to eat a meal in West Knoxville, this may be it! The food was fantastic, the atmosphere supreme, and the service top notch.
The food was excellent. I had the special of the day – surf & turf – that was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The shrimp were so flavorful that there was no need for cocktail sauce! Steak was melt in your mouth tender. The sides were also very good.
My only issue had to do with service; I was seated for some time (long enough for 3 other tables to be seated) before the waitress showed up, where she proceeded to wait on the new tables before even getting my drink order (which was never refilled although I had asked). This was enough for me to knock it down to 4 stars, because good service is a large part of enjoying a meal out.
I am allergic to gluten and they have a gluten free menu and with change gloves ect. To protect me! I highly recommend making a stop here if your nearby!
