I visited The Capital Grille for lunch on a weekday after hearing a lot about it for years. It’s located in the popping and popular Larimer Square that has plenty of shops and places to eat and drink. Upon walking in, it seemed clear that it was an upscale, fine dining establishment as expected. When you walk in, there is a dress code policy showcased right away. It did not seem like the dress code was enforced as there was a patron in a tank top at the bar and I walked in dressed a little more casually than business casual. It may just be because it was a weekday lunch time though.
The food was pretty good. I honestly thought it was going to be a bit better considering the reputation and price point. It definitely will do the job for a business lunch if that is what you are visiting for. The steak frites were amazing. The salmon dish was a bit bland overall. I highly recommend the lobster bisque as the first course for the lunch special. It was great with plenty of lobster.
Service was great and operated like a well-maintained machine as you would expect from a place with a reputation like The Capital Grille.
I will be back to bring customers for business lunches.

Wow! Absolutely amazed at how special The Capital Grille made our anniversary. Every single waiter wished us a happy anniversary every chance they got. They decorated our table with hearts and a *personalized* card wishing us a happy anniversary, and even gave us a free anniversary dessert. Definitely recommend a reservation for celebrating a special occasion – they go all out!
Would’ve given it 5 stars even without the above and beyond service. Staff was friendly and attentive, the ribeye was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the atmosphere was elegant, classy, and perfect! My partner said the filet mignon was one of the best he’s ever had as well, too.
Thank you so much for making our day so special. This was one of our favorite meals we’ve shared in our relationship!

I can’t say enough positive things about my experience here. The staff is wonderful, extremely attentive and knowledgeable. From the gentleman who always knew the perfect time to refill our water glasses to our server who was always available when we needed her but never overbearing, to the kind hostesses, everyone was on their A game and it shows.
The food is just what you want from a nice steakhouse. The Brussel sprouts should not be missed..they were a highlight as well as the Mac and cheese. We also loved the steaks as well as the bacon app.
If you’re a dessert person the cheesecake and chocolate torte were to die for. I have nothing but praise for this spot and can’t wait to go back again

Went there for dinner tonight and it was amazing. We let them know we were celebrating our anniversary and they were so sweet to us. Decorated the table and even gave us a dessert on the house. The server Autumn was so nice and helpful and explained everything on the menu for us, we went with her suggestions and couldn’t have been happier. The food was incredible. 10/10 recommend going here if you can

The food is always a haute cruisine, the staff is beyond kind, and the atmosphere is laid back and still elegant.
The recommendations are always on point and the service is very prompt.

Okay lunch date. First time here. Im a ribeye cut kind of gal and know food. I ordered the ribeye sandwhich and ordered it medium and it was overcooked unfortunately. Our server was great and atmosphere was very good. Just my meal didnt impress me unfortunately due to it being overcooked. Not to mention our server had to go back and get parmesean fries for me because brought out just regular fries.

The food was absolutely amazing! The steak was cooked to perfection tender, flavorful, and exactly how I ordered it. The mashed potatoes were smooth and delicious, and the cream corn with bacon was phenomenal. Every bite was so good.
(Steven) was our server, and he truly made the experience even better. He was attentive, kind, and made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. Excellent service and amazing food we’ll definitely be back!

There is definitely a reason why they have the reputation of being the best. When it comes to food service and atmosphere absolutely top-notch I said this is the times the staff matters from the managers to the Bus boys to my fabulous waitress Alexis. The staff was absolutely amazing. The description of the food made your mouth water, but when the food came to the table that aroma and taste was beyond all expectations. I was celebrating my birthday and the desserts were absolutely out of this world. My favorite is the cheesecake for sure. But my fillet and lobster tail was also as recommended. The wine was great. Had both Malbec and a Port to finish my meal. I had mentioned that my daughter had just gone into labor as we got there so right after I was done eating I was going to be headed to the hospital. The wonderful staff here made a card and sent me a little gift bag with glitter in the card for her to open and celebrate her bringing life into this world. I cannot name another restaurant as thoughtful and amazing. It will definitely be a must go a few times a year for me from now on thank you to the entire staff from the chefs to the wait staff. Thank you for being so amazing.

Outstanding!!! Shout out to Cap Grill. My partner and I went there for a pre dcpa show, date night dinner. We shared a ribeye steak. It came a bit over cooked. However, I did not send it back because it was still a high-end cut and I didn’t want to waste it. Here’s the amazing part… our server saw that it was over cooked and let us know she already had a new one being prepared. She did this without us even saying anything. Turned what would have been a pretty good dinner into an Outstanding experience. If you want good old fashioned great service, Cap Grill is one of the few remaining long standing gems in Denver. Thanks for making high standards the norm. I will be back for sure.
