Most people hear Savannah, GA and immediately think about St Patrick’s Day, Spanish Moss, River St and countless other things. I can’t relate. When I think of Savannah, The Funky Brunch Cafe is the first thing on my mind. It has become tradition for my family to stop in every time we come home from Disney. We live in NC and Savannah is our halfway point. The atmosphere is exactly what the name describes…..funky. Bright colors everywhere with a fun and quirky vibe. The staff is always super nice and accommodating. The owner (Deanne I believe) is the best. Each time we’re there she makes sure to speak and ensures a positive experience. Now to the food! My wife and I are super partial to their Black and Bleu shrimp and sea grits. That being our favorite meal, we’ve tried shrimp and grits at most Savannah brunch spots and nothing else compares. Our daughter loves that she can make her own pancakes on the griddle table and my son raves about their French toast and funky bread. If you asked any member of my family where to go for brunch in Savannah, they would all have the same answer………The Funky Brunch Cafe

Excellent place and exceptional service! We were greeted by the hostess and took a booth with flattop so our daughter could make her own pancackes. She added chocolate chips and whipped cream. I had the French Toast and my wife had the gluten free (Celiac) breakfast sandwich. Turned out the hostess would also be our server and was exceptional. From seating us, teaching our daughter how to use the flattop, to never rushing us, she was great! Wish I could remember her name. All in all great experience and glad my wife found on her Gluten Free App.

This place seemed like your standard “family fun time restaurant” but was a disappointment. To quote one member of our party, “the most flavorful thing I had was the Coke.”
My plate had a biscuit, bacon, eggs, and hash browns, none of which had flavor. The bowls that other people had were equally disappointing. The only decent food we had was the pancakes.
This place has its aesthetic down: corporate street art (all the same color and distinct style, not deeply inspired but cohesive). Unfortunately, even the aesthetic was off since there was a broken lamp above one of the tables and an insanely janky doorknob in the second bathroom.

My husband, our two dogs and I saw that this was dog friendly! It was. Our waitress Precious, was so sweet, she got our dogs a water bowl right away and we received our food quickly and it was delicious. We got a plate of scrambled eggs to feed our pups. It was cold and windy when we came here but we were seated at a table in the sun! Thank you for the great service!
Update!
We came here the next morning because it was so good! It is 6 minute walking distance from The Kimpton Brice Hotel with our pups! This morning we had Miranda for our waitress and she was awesome as well! Thank you again for another great experience, service and delicious food! Prices were great as well! Very dog friendly!!!

Fun restaurant! Decor is fun and bright. Staff were nice. We went for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday as a group of 6 and got in fairly quick. We sat at a cook top table where we got to make our own pancakes.

So fun!!! Miranda was a great server, and the concept is awesome. The food besides the pancakes was delicious as well. We made fun pancake art on our griddle

This was our first time in Savannah and wanted to have breakfast in Downtown. My daughter suggested coming here as she wanted to make her own pancakes. What a great and fun idea. There was a little wait as we wanted a griddle table but it was worth it. Food was wonderful and so was the service. Will be back if we head to Savannah again. Thank you!

Wasn’t feeling well on a visit to Savannah so was thinking soup would do me good. Came in for some French onion soup and this is the sludge I got. Is this just the run off from a roast beef with the grease drippings? Why would anyone think it’s okay to serve this? And the fresh squeezed orange juice? So watered down. So far Savannah food spots are very underwhelming.

Great brunch place! Wife has Celiac and they are thoughtful and knowledgeable which was amazing! I had the hangover which was a great choice and definitely have the biscuit which is nice and fluffy and tastes so good! The French toast was amazing as well! So glad this was recommended for gluten free and not reactions!

The gluten free pancakes were out of this world. The waitress was so helpful explaining the process and ensuring that there was no cross contamination for us. Highly recommend.
