Was convinced to go for my birthday and to get the Hibachi show.
While the food was fresh, it was blander than my love life, which there is none. If they used much more than salt and pepper I would be surprised. In order to get any flavor, you had to dip or mix everything in the dipping sauces.
The “show” as they call it was a whole 2 minutes of wrist flips and 10 seconds of fire.
I was obviously there for my birthday which they only mentioned with birthday ice cream and a simple birthday song.
They have become too corporatized and have taken any originality and fun out of it.
The portion sizes needed to be double for what they are charging.
Very disappointing overall even without thinking about the fact I was there for my birthday.
Skip the show, sit in the regular dining area and maybe your server will have a better personality.

Decided to check out Benihana for the first after hearing Arod, Big Pappi and Derek Jeter taking about it on a FS1 after a Blue Jays vs Yankee Baseball playoff game. This was located walking distance from my hotel in Schaumburg so, the location was perfect. I was seated at a table with 2 people, and I waited for about 10 minutes before the chef came, and got the show started, it was over in 40 minutes. Service was quick as there were only 3 adults + a baby seated at my table. The atmosphere and ambience were amazing. Service was good. Please note that the menu is a bit pricey. So keep that in mind if you decide to visit.

BEWARE OF JUAN THE MANAGER DISGUSTING We had a reservation for five people and arrived during a snowstorm. One person in our party was running behind, and at first we thought they might not make it, so we told the host they were no longer coming. After we were seated, we found out they actually were on their way, just delayed.
Within that time, we ordered sushi and appetizers and waited about 40 minutes for them. While we were still waiting, our waitress suddenly told us we had been sitting there for 45 minutes and that they could not “hold” the table anymore unless we ordered our full meals immediately. We were basically pressured into placing everyone’s entrée order, including for the person who had not even arrived yet.
When the chef finally came to the table, we were shocked that we were not allowed to make any additional requests or adjustments. At other Benihana locations, you are normally allowed to order extras through the chef or have the waitress run back for things like extra rice or sides. None of that was offered here, even though the restaurant was almost completely empty.
The food itself was either undercooked or overcooked and honestly tasted bad. For the price, this was unacceptable.
The worst part was the staff. The manager had an awful attitude and was extremely unprofessional. It felt like trying to have a conversation with a child. Our waitress was also rude and dismissive.
We came to celebrate my niece’s birthday, and only one staff member acknowledged it. No special effort, no energy, nothing. It was sad and completely killed the mood for everyone at the table.
We left feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and disappointed. This was nowhere near the Benihana experience we are used to, and we will not be returning.

The steak burrito is really big and don’t forget to get your sauce. It is definitely needed. The chicken dumplings could have more meat inside of them.

We went to celebrate my son’s Graduation . It was a great experience for my whole family. My son didn’t start eating until after the show was completely over. That’s how much HE enjoyed the chef doing his cooking in front of us.
Everyone from the hostess to the waiter to the Chef were all excellent to us. We really felt welcomed and well taken care of by everyone.
The food was all seasoned and cooked to perfection, not to mention the delicious desserts. You get a 6 course meal for a great price, so not only do you get quantity but quality as well.
I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. It’s a must to experience at least once.

Had an issue being seated. We were there for a surprise birthday party. Everyone was present except the guest of honor, which is what we wanted. They refused to seat us because everyone wasn’t there. I know you have ruled, but no reason you couldn’t adjust for a party of 10, that took up the entire table. Very poor management decision.

This was my first time here. My waitress, Vivian was extremely helpful and accommodating. Michael the manager was top tier, he stopped by and asked if everything was okay and I appreciated that. With customer service on the decline this gives me hope that there are still some good service oriented people out there.

Easily the best Benihana in the Chicagoland area I’m a member with the friends with benefits reward, and they were able to compensate me with my birthday account even though I couldn’t get the number( on friend with benefits end) the manager was so kind, came to me and honored the discount…and Dolly the waitress was absolutely the best I’ve ever had I can’t wait to come back. I would love to have her as my waitress again and of course a given the food was fantastic. Also, never forget to try the green tea ice cream thanks again, Benihana Schaumburg, and to Dolly and the manager, staff and chef! They even charged my phone!!!

Due to illness, I do not get out much but I had the fabulous experience at benihana. I had a little bit of difficulty at the front where you check in but that was quickly rectified by Juan Carlos, the manager. I actually saw him helping out the servers, helping out the cooks and checking on all the tables making sure no one needed anything. The food was absolutely delicious my server was wonderful. I’m sorry I don’t remember that young man’s name as he was friendly, happy and gave me good choices to pick from. He served me on 02/07/26, appropriately 1pm and I believe I sat at one of the three or four tables which they called either the bar or a lounge area. My server was actually serving the main dining room as well but made sure I did not have to wait for anything. if you go to a benihana, go to the one in Schaumburg. Everything was fantastic and Juan Carlos you made my outing even more fantastic. Management, you have a great manager and staff and thank you!
