Reviews
The tortillas on the side were fresh, and the lime and onions helped brighten it up. Service was friendly, but it took a little while to get our food during the lunch rush. The dining area was okay — nothing special, but comfortable enough for a quick meal.
Overall, the menudo was decent but not the best I’ve had. It satisfied the craving, just didn’t quite stand out.
I wanted to share an honest and constructive review of my recent visit, as this was a place that had been recommended to me several times as a great local breakfast spot.
I finally made time to stop by and arrived during what appeared to be a normal breakfast period. From the outside, the restaurant had good traffic and gave the impression of a popular, well-liked establishment. Upon entering, I noticed approximately three to four tables set, with a couple of guests finishing up their meals. There were two team members actively clearing tables, and DoorDash activity seemed to be a priority at the moment.
Where the experience became challenging was at the point of entry. There was no clear signage indicating whether guests should wait to be seated, seat themselves, or place their order at a counter. I stood near the entrance, scanning for direction and trying to make eye contact with staff to ensure I followed the correct process.
Unfortunately, during the entire 15 minutes I stood there, I was not greeted or acknowledged—not even a simple “we’ll be right with you” or “welcome in.” I eventually noticed a line marked “Pick Up Orders Here” and another area labeled “Order Here,” but no one was stationed there, and there was no guidance provided for first-time guests. Meanwhile, multiple DoorDash drivers entered and received attention promptly.
At that point, I realized that the experience felt geared more toward regulars or delivery orders, rather than welcoming new customers. I ultimately decided to leave without ordering and found breakfast elsewhere.
This review isn’t written with negativity or ill intent—rather, it’s shared as feedback. The food may very well be excellent, and the restaurant may thrive with its current customer base. However, for someone visiting for the first time, the lack of greeting, direction, and basic acknowledgment fell short of what I would expect, especially in Texas, where hospitality is often a point of pride.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as small changes—clear signage and a simple greeting—can make a big difference for new guests walking through the door.
The best kept secret in the area.
Food is amazing especially the burritos.
