Charming, old-fashioned bakery & cafe with a small-town vibe & assortment of housemade sweets.

The perfect spot to tuck away and get some comfort food. We love their sandwiches, sides, and sweet tea. The pimento BLT is our favorite. The restaurant itself is an experience. Small town vibes. Great service. We love it here.

We stopped in for breakfast and the owner (we assume) was great. He was attentive and helpful as they were busy and the waitresses had a lot on their plate.
I ordered the sausage egg and cheese biscuit (8/10) , a white chocolate raspberry iced coffee (10/10) and my husband got the pimento BLT with double tomato basil soup (9/10).
Staff were all friendly, the cafe is cozy and we would recommend to anyone in the area. Seating is self seat and you might have to wait, we got lucky and only had to wait a couple minutes.

My husband & I went to Dahlonega specifically to see the lighting of the Square. While there we stopped at Picnic Cafe & Dessertery. My husband ordered the turkey sandwich & White bean chili. I ordered the Brunswick stew and chicken salad on GF bread. All of the food was delicious.
The staff were very friendly. The restaurant has a quaint feel with so much charm.
Stop by the Picnic Cafe then check out the square.

The food was good, it wasn’t amazing. My iced coffee was kind of flavorless and my hard fried egg tasted and looked more like a scrambled egg. The deviled eggs were more on the savory side, I like mine with relish, but it was flavorful and seasoned well. The fruit was a slice of watermelon, 3 apple slices and 2 pieces of oranges for nearly $6, that was highly disappointing. My daughter said her sausage gravy biscuits were good, they looked good and her strawberry smoothie. The cookies were good. The inside was very small with a handful of big tables. It was pretty loud and busy. The service was fantastic, I’d go back just for the service.

This place is so CUTE and DELICIOUS!
A Southern Egg Salad on a croissant, a half sandwich of Pimento Cheese BLT on sourdough and a Boars Head Roasted Turkey Sandwich on cracked wheat bread was ordered.
The egg salad had Gala apples and it works. The subtle sweetness and crunch was something I never knew I needed in egg salad.
The Pimento Cheese in the BLT is a homemade recipe. We have had pimento cheese before and wasn’t the biggest fan, but this stuff was absolutely amazing. It was creamy, rich and a total flavor bomb. We will be thinking about this sandwich for a very long time.
The Turkey Sandwich was huge and the bread was so soft and fresh.
A cup of the white bean chili and tomato basil bisque was ordered as well.
The white bean chili was flavored really well and had a nice little bite to it.
The tomato basil bisque was creamy with nice size pieces of tomatoes and the basil flavor was very pronounced.
If you are EVER in this area, this is a must go to place for a bite to eat.

I’ve stopped here twice this week. The first time I had the carrot cake, and I highly recommend it. My wife tried the apple fritter, which seemed like it might have been made the day before and wasn’t very good. Our friends had ice cream and enjoyed it.
On our second visit, I had the hummingbird cake. It wasn’t quite as good as the carrot cake, but still good. The staff were friendly, and overall it’s a great spot to grab ice cream and desserts.

Had a wonderful lunch at Picnic Cafe a few weekends ago! It’s super cute inside and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the pimento BLT, which was divine, with a cup of Brunswick Stew, which was decent. The potato salad was BANGING. Both of my dining partners also enjoyed their food as well, would go back and recommend.

My mom, sister, and I went to Picnic Cafe and Dessertery for breakfast, and it was such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced, and the coffee was amazing. We also loved their adorable mugs on the wall—my mom and sister even ended up buying some! The staff was super friendly, attentive, and quick, checking on us regularly without being intrusive. I would highly recommend stopping by for a tasty breakfast and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere!

Highly disappointed, ordered a hot chocolate to found out while waiting at the register that it was GREAT VALUE… this is for real! I didn’t took a picture for respect to the employees, tonight was just sad! I don’t have any hate on Walmart product but I don’t think you should pay for a higher price for the quality of hot chocolate this place is offering! Kilwins have a hot chocolate from scratch! This is my first bad review after so many years using Google Maps and such a sad experience in a dream town like Dahlonega. NOT RECOMMENDED!
