The sushi roll I had was stunning.
The food was all well made and very good. The portions are huge and enough for 2 servings.
Definitely somewhere I’d return to when in the area!
Their drinks were not as strong as I had expected, but a simple request and they were taken care of next round.
The menu was well rounded and was basically Chinese dishes as expected. The did have a Hibachi area for the live dining experience too.
The foods we ordered were very good, prices were about what our would expect, I’d say around 25 to 30, plus the drink prices per person. The live Hibachi would tend to be more.
Service was good and steady. No waiting for someone to tend to you, despite the fact they had signs posted saying they were short staffed and it may affect your seating and serving times, but honestly, we did not experience any but the seating time.
Cozy place, lots of tables and booths, and the Hibachi is separate from the main dining area. Overall, I’d say it was a great experience. I will cone here again for the sushi, sashimi and Chinese classic dishes.
When we reported it, the original manager offered us a $10 gift certificate, which felt dismissive. We left the certificate on the table, along with the food, because we didn’t want anything from them after that. When we escalated to the general manager, Amanda, she doubled it to $20, but it still felt inadequate.
Initially, when the hair was found in my soup, the manager offered to give me more soup or to take the soup off the bill. This was unreasonable since the soup came from the same pot and could contain more hair. We ultimately left everything on the table and didn’t take the food home. I ended up feeling sick for days afterward.
The server was also very apologetic and acknowledged that this was wrong, wishing she could do more. I don’t want anyone to get fired over this, but it’s important for the restaurant to improve their standards.
I’ve attached photos of the food and the contamination to show that I’m not exaggerating. My goal is simply to highlight this issue for public health and encourage Miyako to do better.
I hope Miyako takes this feedback seriously and ensures this doesn’t happen to other customers in the future.
If I could rate zero stars I would.
