Top Notch. I don’t know why me and my husband were late to the party! Everything was delicious! I have absolutely no complaints. My tastebuds were literally dancing in my mouth fighting for a taste lol. Mostly definitely going to make this a go to place on my favorites list. I had the fried chicken, yams, Mac and chees and cornbread. The staff were very nice and accommodating the environment was clean and comfortable the owner was nice and humble. Top Notch. You can tell he loves what he does. Definitely recommend. It’s so hard to find a good soul food restaurant. I pray God continues to bless this business. I had pound cake my husband had the lemon velvet. No complaints delicious!

This is definitely one of thee… Worst Burger I ever had….for the price I thought this Burger was going to Slapp…It was definitely the opposite…Super dry…Over cooked.. Bread was hard as Cardboard…I spent $35.00 for a… Cheese Burger… Fried Green Tomatoes and a Kool-Aid… Absolutely disappointing…For the price the Food should be better…The Price and the Quality… Definitely needs improved…

We stopped by Savannah Joe’s on 3/22 and was deliciously delighted The shrimp and grits were some of the richest, creamiest I’ve ever had in a flavorful gravy with perfectly prepared shrimp. The gravy on the smothered chicken was delicious, greens were very flavorful and good (I prefer my greens cooked a tad bit more coarse) my husband said the yams were on point! The fried green tomatoes were The customer service was so very welcoming. I will definitely stop back in when passing by the area!

I hadn’t been to Savannah Joe’s on Glenwood in Youngstown for over two years. Stopped in and got shrimp and grits, along with greens and sweet potatoes. It was great, as was that area. Some nice rehabs and a mural across the street make eating in a good option for lunch and dinner. It’s a modern chef-run restaurant with consistently prepared food.
The folks that work there are great, the dining area is clean and sleek. It’s just a nice situation to be able to get that style of Southern food, that I can count on getting the flavors right for the gumbo, as well as the shrimp and grits being the best you can have in the area. Try the jambalaya here if you want to know what it’s supposed to taste like.
I really like the food at Savannah Joe’s restaurant.

We visited Lanternman’s Mill, and this delightful southern food restaurant was nearby. We had the fried chicken and smothered pork chop. Both dishes, with the sides—black eye peas, collard greens, coleslaw, and green beans—were delicious. I would recommend this restaurant if you are visiting the area parks.

Wonderful food and service! I got the chicken bacon ranch melt and it was fresh and delicious, my husband got the gumbo with cornbread and it was absolutely delicious. We also got the hot honey shrimp as an appetizer and they were perfectly sweet and spicy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was welcoming, impeccably clean and inviting. We would most definitely stop again.

I use to go here a lot when they first opened. It was something different and close to my house. Things have changed a lot. Food quality TERRIBLE. I ordered simple breaded shrimp with fries and coleslaw. Got my food and the shrimp breading was damn near off all the shrimp, fries taste like cooked in old grease, and the coleslaw was disgusting. Tasted like it was old and spoiled. I promise I’ll never go there again. I’ve heard similar issues so as for most restaurants in Youngstown you will not last long. It was a Sunday and you guys was busy but I’m sure I hope not that you didn’t give all those customers the same food. Probably not oh well.
