In 1967, Salvatore Canale ventured out from the small town of Altavilla Milicia in Sicily and embarked on a journey to Chicago with his wife, son, and daughter. Salvatore had a dream of bringing a piece of his background to Chicago and sharing it with others. In 1972, he opened a small carry-out establishment at 4004 W. Addison and called it La Villa. Salvatore took pride in his pizza but also enjoyed entertaining the neighborhood kids by flipping pizza dough in the window. After outgrowing the Addison location, in 1976, Salvatore relocated the business to its current location on Pulaski. Delicious food and very attentive service. We were here with a friend from Chicago who raves about this place. He wasn’t kidding. We wanted to get an appetizer and the waiter recommended a breaded eggplant starter. I don’t remember the name but is was excellent. Usually breaded eggplant is a bit soggy but this was crisp and delicious. The main dishes, lasagna, chicken marsala, and chicken parmesan were all wonderful, and we topped off the meal with tiramasu. This is definitely a place we will return to.

Christopher, our server was excellent. Explained the specials in great detail. They made me fresh coffee, just because. My Wife and Daughter were extremely pleased with their orders. All the patrons were smiling and having a good time. I was expecting a larger bill. We will be back.

Favorite thin crust in the area. XXXtra thin and well done are the move if you are looking for thin, crispy pizza. The alfredo sauce and sausage thin crust may be my favorite pizza in the city.

This was our parent’s favorite restaurant and we have great memories of coming here over the last 4 decades. Our parents both passed away in the last 4 years so my sister and I wanted to take our families in their memory tonight. We had a wonderful time with amazing food and great service! To cap off our night we received a complimentary desert of cannoli and tiramisu. What a lovely surprise and so appreciated . We will be making this a tradition every year to honor our parents and our wonderful memories as a family at LaVilla.

I recently went to La Villa Restaurant on Pulaski and really enjoyed my meal. I started with soup and Oysters Rockefeller, both were delicious and then had the Linguine Pescatore – the pasta was really good! The service was excellent too.

We have been going to La Villa for years and always have a fantastic experience, especially when you sit in the bar area and chat with Wendell or get excellent service from Christopher. I was there celebrating with family. It happened to be restaurant week, and Christopher went above and beyond to deliver great service and answer questions about the special menu. We are an old school Italian family and appreciate a good value and great people.
I’ve been recommending this place to folks for the 15 years or so that I’ve been coming, and I will continue to do so.

Some of the best pasta I’ve ever had — and I don’t say that lightly. Perfectly cooked, fresh, and packed with flavor in every bite. You can taste the quality and care in the sauce alone. Honestly, it rivals some of the best pasta I’ve had anywhere in the U.S.
And the best part? I live five minutes away. Feeling incredibly blessed to have something this good right in my neighborhood. This spot is officially in my regular rotation.
