I really enjoy Delia’s tamales. They’re pretty close to traditional homemade recipes from Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas. I’ve tried several options and they’re all good, but I usually go with the pork tamales since those are my favorite. Their green salsa is great too.

Went through the Drive Thru. There was a line but it moved quickly. Line was expected because it was Sunday and I didn’t mind it at all, I had nothing else to do and I had been wanting tamales for days. I ordered spicy pork, spicy chicken and cheese and bean,cheese and jalapeño. I absolutely love the green salsa. I am a salsa fanatic and personally believe in a fantastic slasa maker. But the green salsa here should be world famous. Reasonable pricing. I grew up around homemade tamales and believed my family’s recipes were the best in the world and didn’t have Delias until I was probably 20ish. I had been missing out! I do love my mom’s homemade tamales, but I don’t crave them unlike the Delias craving that hits every few months. I would like to mwntion that I once had the menudo for breakfast dine in and I was impressed. I am very particular when it comes to menudo and the one here was not bad at all. Probably the only place in the RGV that I would chose for menudo and tamales. Note, I have had menudo and tamales at about 3 or 4 other places.

There are always too many people here and the traffic isn’t managed, there is a police officer on duty, properly. Almost feels like you’re in real
Mexico and you have to tip the “federal” to allow you to cut a line or not allow another person to cut a line. If you go inside, there is even more cutting of lines with their excuse being, “I’ve already ordered ahead”. The tamales aren’t what they used to be either. I only stopped to get some because I was gifting them to some mechanics that were to work on my truck that day. I, personally, wouldn’t eat from here anymore.
