This is easily my favorite diner in New Jersey. The food is always amazing. And yes, it’s even worth sitting in the I-80 sinkhole traffic for it. The chicken parmigiana on ciabatta is my favorite dish by far. The short rib grilled cheese is also really good, as are the cheeseburgers, a New Jersey diner staple. Charlie and Kiera are the absolute best, either one will take good care of you!

The food was absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere was just as good — cozy, welcoming, and full of character. Everything we ordered was delicious and clearly made with care. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. From the food to the vibe to the people, this place really gets it right. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re nearby — we’ll definitely be back!

Our family goes to this diner a lot, just to have a meal and sometimes for celebrations. We love Hibernia Diner! They are always nice and the food is great! Their French onion soup is literally the best around, and many other food items are excellent. I had the soup and shrimp scampi with penne and it was delicious!

I’m very happy with the breakfast that I received. Server Weal was fantastic and respectful. Was very attentive to us. Asked for tea and brought two cups with tea bags and brought a tea kettle as well. Food was very good too. Eggs Taylor ham or pork roll with Rye toast. Potatoes pan cakes with bacon. Cooked perfectly.

Meals were 2 short stack with fruit, 2 eggs with hash browns and a roast beef sandwich additional oder of fries. 3 sodas and a coffee
Roast beef sandwich was smaller then other places in size and amount of food. Short stack was 2 pancakes regular size that was about right Compared to other places usually 3 but maybe a bit smaller in size kids still ate about the same amount.
Must say I was not impressed with the menu. Diners usually have a lot of selection even pasta( which some places you don’t go to diners for pasta, but still option ). Seemed to have more of a Greek selection not just the normal diner type of options.
I will admit I have not been here in a long time not sure I would really go out of my way to stop again. This was just convenient for tonight.
Our server was great did check on us a few times which was a plus. I was just. It impressed tonight.

New Jersey is well known for its diners and this is a classic diner! Like all diners in New Jersey, you could pretty much have any meal anytime of the day. I’ve never had a bad meal here and they have some really amazing desserts! They are located conveniently right off exit 37 on route 80 in Rockaway. So it’s easy on easy off if you’re looking for a nice sit-down meal to take a break from traveling.

4 couple met here because the site was central to us and easy access on and of rte 80. We got set up with a large booth type table that handle 8 set back in the left side of the Diner that gave us some privacy and allowed us to get a little loud at times without disturbing the peace. Service and food was above average and one said their Autumn Squash was better than Panera Breads version.

We made a custom order of eggs and meat. Everything was cooked nicely and service was an easy 10/10. Sat and relaxed before our long journey. Good quality food with exceptional service.
