My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Canyon Kitchen, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The view is fantastic, and we were able to enjoy the grounds before our reservation time. Our server Cade was very friendly and attentive, and other staff members checked in on us as well. The food was probably the best meal of our entire trip, with such creative flavor pairings and ingredients. We hope to return to Canyon Kitchen in the future!!

Nothing but good things to say about Canyon Kitchen. Service was stellar, pre-service was stellar and ambiance was perfect. Drinks done well, apps done well and meals done perfect.
Highly recommend, will definitely return

Greeted by the most unbelievably rude hostess. Was told we could not get a cocktail because they were “too busy”. The restaurant was 3/4’s empty. Our group made it clear that we were not interested in eating dinner – just wanted one cocktail to take it out on the grass area. Mind you, this property is massive and can accommodate PLENTY of people. We have a house less than 10 minutes away and I am going to spread the word about our experience to make sure people don’t waste their time and money here.

This was our second time dining at Canyon Kitchen and we had a absolutely great evening. I had called late into our trip to the Sapphire Valley area and was able to get a late reservation on Sunday @ 7:30. I called earlier that day and was able to take advantage of a cancellation for a 6:00 reservation after a call back from their very thoughtful manager Robie. He went out of his way to make our visit special once again. It’s always a great idea to show up at least 30 min early in time to view the sunset on the lawn. The views with a cocktail in hand while strolling on the lawn, lounging in an Adirondack chair, or standing at a high top bar table is surely a special experience. It’s always a friendly crowd in a great mood if you want to meet some new folks having a good time. The outside bar is well equipped and serves up craft cocktails, beer and wine. The bartenders seemed to be quite disinterested in the same high level of customer service that the servers have. I suppose the automatic 20% gratuity, which I’m never a fan of, and normally exceed, don’t provide much incentive which was a bit obvious. Our dinner server Sarah however was amazing and brought things back to our amazing experience at this gem. She recommended the MS Catfish which was crispy and delicious. My wife had the Cheerwine short ribs and they also were good. We spit a Romain wedge and it was just the right amount. Broccoli au Gratin as our shared side was also very good. We love the Canyon Kitchen and it’s a must do spot in the area for a great fine dining experience.

Truly one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The hostess was unbelievably rude and dismissive from the moment we arrived. There was plenty of open space in the outdoor and bar area, and we politely said we just wanted a quick drink before we went elsewhere for dinner. We were flat-out refused, treated like an inconvenience, and physically blocked from even walking around to show our out of town guests the view. The host’s attitude was arrogant and unprofessional, and she single handedly tainted our opinion of a longtime favorite. For a place that charges premium prices and prides itself on the view, they should spend more time training their staff on basic respect.

Let me start off that I have never written a review before for anything. However, I have never experienced such poor customer service or been treated so poorly in my life. Hence, the below review.
We had guests in town on Friday and wanted to share a beautiful view with a great (expensive) cocktail with close friends. We arrived and attempted to order cocktails and stand at a high top. Upon arrival, we were met by the unbelievably rude hostess/ manager and were told that there was no capacity for us to have just one cocktail. Mind you we were not looking for seats or a table for dinner. We just wanted to have a cocktail and walk around the grounds to show our friends who had never been before. The explanation was that they were expecting a total of 30 people for dinner that evening and those 30 people “may” want to have a cocktail outside prior to sitting down for dinner. Half of the inside tables were empty and there was no one ordering drinks at the outside bar. I inquired a second time as it did not make any logical sense to me. The same rude hostess/manager immediately dismissed me and turned her back on me. We left scratching our heads in disbelief as we would probably have spent well over $100 plus the automatic 20% gratuity for 4 cocktails. We then proceeded to our country club, Country Club of Sapphire Valley, where we were greeted with smiles and open arms. We sat on the back porch and looked at the beautiful view overlooking the gorgeous golf course and mountains .As it ended up we spent over $200 on cocktails.
I have been to Canyon Kitchen for dinner at least 5 times before and the food /menu is less than mediocre. Not to mention that the prices are very expensive and definitely not worth it. The only reason to go to this restaurant is for the view. There are much better restaurants in the area such as The Orchard, Library, and Osteria to name a few.
Needless to say, I will never go back to this place. Given the opportunity, I will take pleasure in sharing my recent experiences/opinions on the quality of their food and their lack of customer service!

We visited Canyon Kitchen last weekend for a long-anticipated retirement celebration, and while the setting and food were wonderful, the service fell far short of expectations—especially at this price point.
The grounds are stunning, the atmosphere is serene, and the food and cocktails were truly delicious. However, our service experience was disappointing. Our server was largely absent between courses, never checked in on the food, and at one point was gone for over 20 minutes while our drinks sat empty and dirty dishes piled up. When she returned, the only explanation given was that they were short-staffed.
Plates sat in front of us for over 15 minutes, and we were told the chef had to slow down the next course because the table hadn’t been cleared. A bottle of wine we ordered before entrees wasn’t poured until we were nearly finished eating. There seemed to be no support from management or additional staff—no one checked in, and no effort was made to smooth over the experience beyond a vague “you have the table all night.”
As someone with 20 years of experience in the service industry and who frequently dines at high-end restaurants, I was surprised by the lack of training, attentiveness, and professionalism. The food and location deserve a higher level of hospitality to match.

What an absolute joke of a restaurant. The staff was flat-out rude from the second we walked in. They wouldn’t seat our party of 9 — even though the place was half empty — and refused to even let us grab a cocktail while enjoying the beautiful view outside. It’s like they go out of their way to make people feel unwelcome. Gorgeous location, completely wasted on people with zero hospitality or common sense. Don’t bother going unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience.
