Waited a little over a year to try this place and it was very underwhelming.
The whole table got chicken fried steak and no one was impressed.
I was the only one who got catfish and chicken fried chicken. The chicken was good but super thin, good flavor though.
Catfish was bland but good crunch.
Salad was great
Sweet tea pretty good.
Overall, underwhelming and bland for food.
Cinnamon rolls were decent. I did buy a 6 pack to go.
Atmosphere was cool and service was nice but not in a hurry to drive the 30 minutes back. My family drove for an hour.

Kendall’s is an Oklahoma destination. Be sure to bring your appetite (and CASH because they don’t take debit or credit)! The portion sizes are enormous, which is kind of what they’re known for. Of course we got the chicken fried steak, because, Kendall’s. You can get the regular size or big. My husband and I shared a regular sized chicken fried steak. Now, if you’ve ever read any reviews that I’ve left for other restaurants, you know I’m a green bean snob. Green beans done right is reason enough by itself to go to a restaurant. Kendall’s green beans were okay, but not top notch. The mashed potatoes were really good and the gravy was perfect! The chicken fried steak was absolutely delicious. The cinnamon rolls were amazing. We also had fried green tomatoes (that I forgot to take a photo of) and they were really good. The ranch dressing was delicious. They make it there. The sweet tea was very good. Fresh and sweet. And they have the good ice! The restaurant itself is lovely. Very kitchy. It’s got a vintage feel to it. Our waiter was the GOAT. He was super attentive and kept up wonderfully even though they were pretty busy and the table across from us was very demanding. He took care of everyone like a champ. Overall, it was a good experience with good food. The parking is kind of odd. It’s angled parking on the road, which is kind of busy. There looked to be a couple of over flow type areas too. Again, bring cash.

100% worth the 30 minute drive! The food was great & WOW the cinnamon rolls were Mouth-Watering delicious!
We were fortunate to have an amazing waiter that seemed to be the regular’s favorite. What an enjoyable lunch at a small town restaurant, we will definitely be back!

I’ve had a lot of chicken fried steak and nothing could beat a homemade one…til today.

This is the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had. The food was great, place was great, and staff were excellent!

I absolutely loved every single morsel of food. Homemade ranch dressing, great salad, fish and chicken fried steak was to die for. Okra was fried perfectly, mashed potatoes were spot on. Hushpuppies were perfect, great tartar sauce and the cinnamon rolls were the perfect amount of glaze. I didn’t get to the biscuit, but it was nice & fluffy. The topper was John, our server…truly spectacular. Friendly, funny, prompt and polite. I would give 10stars if I could!!!!

I ordered the grilled lemon pepper catfish and it was PERFECT! My green beans were room temp, which I didn’t LOVE, but no worries! I ate some of them and lived to make another post!

Don’t let the parking lot fool you! With only one open parking space within 60yards we were sat soon as we entered.

Yep it’s good. Chicken fried chicken has a different batter than what you’re probably used to, and it is great. Biscuits are definitely true to the hype and cinnamon rolls are spot on. So glad we stopped by for lunch. I will definitely be coming back.

So I totally forgot to take photos of the food. I apologize. Hubs and I shared the “four hands” chicken fried steak, double mashed potatoes and green beans. Meal also comes with biscuits and cinnamon rolls for each. For $31 including tax, best price in town for dinner for two. Only caveat- they only take cash and checks, no credit cards. Just be mindful of that when visiting. Otherwise, a pleasant experience.

I’m going to be brutally honest and I see the over 2400+ reviews and most are 4 & 5’s. A 3 star probably isn’t worthy but I’ll explain. First, I called ahead to determine best time to avoid before the restaurant gets crowded. Our group of four arrived about 4:30 and although we were seated right away the place was quite busy!

Our server Heather was great! She was willing to explain everything and even told us about the challenge. Not that I had any aspirations to try it but my friend wanted to size it up.

My wife & I order the same; the Pond & Pasture since each of us wanted the Chicken Fried Steak & Catfish. The salads arrived right on time and the homemade dressing are awesome!

A short time later the main course arrived. Great plate appearance! However, only the Chicken Fried Steak was warm/hot; the rest of the plate was merely just warm enough to eat.

Could I have sent back? Of course, but we waited all day to eat! I ate the Chicken Fried Steak first and yes it was delicious! The rest of the meal was just luke warm, it seemed as if this was plated first, sat under a heat lamp and waited for the Chicken Fried Steak to be served. I managed to eat most of the meal but still left food on the plate.

I guess this happens when you’re a popular restaurant! Overall this place is worthy but I just seemed to think that that those plating mistakes can hamper a great experience!
