Très délicieux! Had chicken vindaloo and lamb rogen josh (i think they spell it differently). Taste and spice level on point (you can ask for Asian level spiciness yay!). Meat is super tender, fresh. I had to have a second serving of rice. Service was excellent. 10/10 would come again!

Misleading Food, Bully Staff – Never Again (But I think that’s what they thrive on – who is coming again right? !)

I had dinner at this restaurant yesterday and ordered chana daal with rice. It was okay — the level I expect when visiting a new place — but I really needed some desi food, and at least it didn’t upset my stomach. I was too tired today after a trip and figured I’d just go back since it’s right next to my hotel.

Big mistake — totally ruined my night.

I ordered palak paneer. Before ordering, I specifically asked the waitress if they use real paneer (not tofu or soy). She confirmed it was made in-house and assured me it was authentic paneer.

Let me be clear: I had just spent an entire week in Mannheim Germany eating proper Indian food with actual paneer dishes, so the taste is fresh in my mind. What they served here was absolutely not paneer — it had the texture and bland flavor of tofu or some cheap soy product. Look at the zoomed in pic on their in-house made paneer.

When I pointed this out, instead of listening, the waitress started yelling right in my face that it was paneer, even shouting into the kitchen (which was just a few steps away). No apology, no willingness to understand — just aggressive pushback. The owner insisted its paneer – I dont understand why french milk is yielding wierd stuff compared to rest of the world ! I asked if I could swap the dish for daal instead — the waitress refused and told me I’d need to place a new order and pay again. Seriously?

To top it off, I could hear the staff (mostly the waitress) loudly talking about what I said about their fake paneer from the kitchen, assuming I didn’t understand what she was saying. Such a shameless creature ! Completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

I barely touched the food, left it on the table, and still paid the full bill. Honestly, the dishonesty, the cheap attitude, and the total lack of customer service is abominable. I will file complaint against them.

AVOID THIS PLACE ! Complete fraudster

Optimistic Myself.
Authentic Indian Restaurant.

I tried Biriyani and the rate was around 20€. Cash and cards accepted. Wheelchairs friendly access.

Edit: I happen to visit it for the second time and it was not upto the mark. The quantity was reduced significantly for the Biriyani and I decided not to visit again for this scam. Taste is good but the quantity is not even worth it and I am sorry to say this. I tried lassi as well which was good. But quantity is not what we expect if we are spending 20€ for a biriyani.

Per head rate was around 20€. Good customer service with faster food dine in.

Options of several Indian dishes exist with wines and other drinks.

This was the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in France! I ordered garlic naan, vegetarian dall, and an espresso and Indian carrot cake for dessert (all for €30). I ate on a Monday evening at 18:45 so it was empty when I got there. I’m not sure if I’m used to American portions or if these portions were smaller. I was very hungry when I arrived, so I finished it all. The waitress was very friendly and the food came out fast. I would definitely come back here again.

The food was absolutely delicious, The menu offers a good variety, and everything we tried was well-prepared and beautifully presented.
We have tried chicken masala and kalamari, the bread was fresh and delicious.
The only downside is that the place is quite small, so it can feel a bit crowded, especially during peak hours.

I had the chicken biryani at Le Madras and it was absolutely phenomenal. The rice was fragrant, the spices perfectly balanced, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into preparing this dish — every bite was delicious and deeply satisfying. If you’re a fan of authentic biryani, this one really hits the mark.

What made the experience even better was the excellent service and warm ambiance. The staff were courteous, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The restaurant itself has a cozy and inviting atmosphere that complements the food beautifully. Le Madras has definitely earned a well-deserved five stars!

I swear this is by far the best Prawns Briyani of my life. My friend ate lamb briyani. It was amazing as well. I wanted it extra spicy. And they cooked it so perfectly. It was so delicious and full of flavor. Perfectly cooked prawns and amazing aroma. Incredible taste. And I came back for the second time before I depart from Strasbourg. Also, i took away one more packet for my family who lives in Bordeaux. Highly recommended!

I lived in Dubai and my friend spent several months in India, so we both know the authentic taste of the Indian food. After eating in that restaurant we both got very satisfied with our dishes. I ordered lamb biriyani and it was very tasty. The service was also very quick and welcoming.
