I got the chance to have an impromptu Monday evening meal here with a couple of colleagues during a business trip, and I am incredibly grateful that we followed another colleague’s recommendation to come here. The place was quite full even for a Monday night, but thankfully they had enough space for the three of us, and the staff were lovely and welcoming.
We chose our meals and a bottle of excellent Chardonnay, and then proceeded to devour what I can only describe as the best fish-based dinner I have ever had. Two of us had the incredible fish soup as a starter, which was a hearty, flavour-packed smorgasbord of scrumptious shrimp, cod, herb oil, chives, delightful crispy bits, in a lightly creamy broth. The sourdough and rye bread with whipped butter that were brought to the table were a lovely accompaniment and we probably could’ve made a meal of just that, given the generous portion size of the soup and bread.
Still, I’m so glad we didn’t because the absolute showstopper was the skrei (which we all had for our mains) on a bed of mashed celeriac, with shiitake mushrooms, broccolini, and the most unbelievably delicious scallop sauce. It’s hard to describe just how much we loved this dish, and each of us cleaned our plates like the world was about to end! Every component of that dish was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the fish flaked off beautifully but still had enough body and substance to maintain a fantastic mouthfeel, and the celeriac mash and sauce were the perfect foil. We were stuffed to the gills (pun entirely intended) by the end of this, and sadly could not contemplate dessert (even though I’d noticed a very enticing dark chocolate something…) but needless to say we were more than satisfied with the experience.
This place isn’t cheap, it’s only for unwavering fish lovers, and by choosing a la carte we had full control over what we ate, but I couldn’t fault a thing and I can’t wait to go back.

I chose the 3 best options deal on the menu and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. Fish soup, catch of the day, and plum dessert!
The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was amazing, and the food was beyond delicious. All of the flavors complemented each other and this is a key destination when in Stavanger!

If you love fresh seafood, this is your spot! We pre-order the seafood tower and wow, it was huge and super fresh! The king crab was AMAZING ! We were here just for the day from the cruise ship we were so happy we found this great restaurant. The people who write bad reviews have no taste in fresh seafood. The amount of food for three people that we had we couldn’t even finish everything. Also, the staff is wonderful shout out to them.

It was delicious. Fried fish with cale, carrots, pickled onion, tatis and burre blanc. I was a bit disappointed with the selection, as I would have liked shrimp and tried king crab. Fisketorget is also a fishmonger, and apparently, they sometimes sell out.

A very nice restaurant, the service was good. I liked the open kitchen, you can really see the passion on the chef’s face. I have the best fish soup of my life, it was more elevated, with green oil and plenty of textures. It was simply a delight to have lunch in here.

Delightful!! Fish soup was extremely flavorful and full of fish, seasonings and crostini ⭐️ Catch of the day was garnished with salmon roe and thoughtful sauce, accompanied by potatoes and veggies.

Really nice restaurant with delicious food, friendly and helpful staff and a cosy but stylish atmosphere. My friend and I went on a rainy Monday lunch and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They talked us through the menu, the catches/specials of the day and were lovely and attentive throughout our experience. We both ordered the fish soup and it was delicious! Full of flavour, lots of big fish pieces. You can order small or large and we ordered large and were very full afterwards. I’d happily visit again.

Very overpriced meals with more sallad filling than actual substance.
In short i would describe this place as a typical overpriced tourist trap to avoid.
Of our 3 different menu items only 1 was even remotely acceptable. Catch of the day was fine, nice sauce and reaaonable serving size.
The “largest shrimp sandwich” as it was called on the menu was a joke. A very small handful tasteless shrimps on a huge bed of raw mixed sallad to give the illusion of size without actually having to serve anything of worth. The bread wasnt bread, it was a thick slice of the same foccacia bread served in the bread basket drenched in a dill mayonnaise.
310nok for 90% sallad, the wrong bread and 4 slices of cucumber and radish with a tiny portion scrimp. No, just no. Blasphemous.
The spicy salmon sallad was even worse. Imagine the largest bowl (akin to a family sized ramen bowl) filled with 700grams of the same plane mixed sallad, thick pieces of chopped chilli peppers (not even de-seeded) and 6 tiny pieces of plain raw salmon.
Again, amazingly stingy protein portion size. Just a bunch of bland sallad that likely came pre-packaged.
I assume this place would be nice on a hot summer day while enjoying a beer and maybe something else on the menu. For lunch however this was the biggest disappointment in a long time.

Great range of fresh seafood. I ordered catch of the day and oysters. Unfortunately, there is no options for people who don’t like fish. One of our kid does not like it at all and we asked for pasta with some cheese for him. It wasn’t really tasty. So, the restaurant is a great place to eat for fish lovers only.

Our Experience in Stavanger – Disappointing Seafood Restaurant
We were visiting Stavanger and looking for an authentic Norwegian seafood experience. This restaurant showed up in the reviews, so we decided to give it a try.
We asked for traditional Norwegian salmon, but surprisingly, they didn’t have it. Instead, we ordered shrimp, lobster, and crab.
The lobster was average, nothing special. The shrimp was a disaster — no flavor at all, and it wasn’t properly cleaned. The crab was also disappointing and didn’t taste fresh.
We couldn’t finish the food.
When it was time to pay, the bill came to 349 euros, which was shockingly high for such a poor experience.
Overall, we were very disappointed. We felt misled by the reviews, and unfortunately, this place didn’t live up to our expectations at all.
