Jayy was the reason for leaving this review. It was so refreshing to feel the genuine customer service this young man had. He was all over the place, I would say the face of our experience here today. From recommendations, to helping us navigate the app for rewards, he was helpful and smiling with such a calm and warm demeanor. The food was great!! Highly recommend the handout fries and the The More Cowbell sandwich. Absolutely delicious! This is a place that just leaves you feeling good. You walk away feeling like you ate at your mommas house. Thanks Jayy for your amazing service and warm inviting personality. In a world where you never see or feel that anymore please never lose it! It has made my day.

Man!!! Im hurt yall did me like this. I was looking forward to some good BBQ. When I walked in it was smelling good in there and the cashier had a scarf on her head. I was in heaven. Im like this food about to get me together. I get my food get in my whip and start driving with my jams going. I knew something was up cause I didn’t smell no good aroma coming from the bag like it was when I walked in the restaurant. Im still excited though! So, I pull in my driveway and immediately tell myself im about to smash this in the car so the family won’t ask for none(yall know how kids can be lol) I open the bag and as im laying the food out(I have an in car table) I look and get mad like this some bullcrap without even trying the food. You can see from the pics why I was mad. I paid over $20 for this. I didn’t show the okra but them little green things were soggy. The bread was the best thing from this meal and I smashed that even thoughitvwas a little burnt. I feel like I payed $20 for a piece of bread and the Tupperware the meat came in cause im keeping that.

First time here. I ordered for dine in. Leg quarter with fries and beans with beef brisket. Well before I even got my food, I got a red plate to eat with. I got to my table, looked at the plate and found it very filthy. A big no to me. I went to grab silverware and those were dirty as well. My food came. Beans wee in barbecue sauce and brisket was so dry inside it that it was like they put it in right before they brought it to me. Fries were terrible with no flavor. Now the chicken quarter sauce was decent. Chicken was dry and bland. The toast and tea were the highlights of this meal. This is not the spot to eat barbecue at. I highly suggest the smoke pit before ever wasting time at city barbecue!!! Empty just me here. There were 2 people here before I sat down.but they do play some great music. Muddy Waters baby.

No idea how this place has anything above 1 star. Brisket was so dry it needed a knife to cut. It was also served barely warm. 0 flavor. Pulled pork was cold. Again zero flavor. Mac and cheese had a really nice consistency but little flavor at all. The cornbread flavor was okay. The bottom half of it however was covered in grease. Beans are literally just beans in bbq sauce thats been reduced for hours into a very thick mostly bbq sauce with some bean mix. The sauces are all extremely lack luster. Honestly this was a pretty big disappointment.

Delicious, tender and flavorful is what my mom and I think of this place!! It was our first time and we were treated like family the moment our order was taken by Ms Sabrina! Sabrina was very nice and personable when taking my order. She even threw in a free banana pudding (which is amazing btw ). I personally interacted with two other staffers and they were very pleasant. The food was great and the restaurant was very clean. Will definitely be back!

Stopped butto get dinner and had a great experience at the City BBQ – University location. Sabrina was a great help putting a dinner order to meet the needs of my family for my daughter’s birthday dinner.
Service was great and food was delicious, brisket was tender and ribs were falloff the bones good! Sides were good too, Mac n cheese was creamy and baked beans were great with just enough meat making it more than just a side!
Look forward to coming back!!
