We stopped by and try this bbq place. It felt cozy, clean and family friendly.
I ordered the brisket plate with coleslaw and broccoli. They mistakenly put fries but brought the right side right away and with a fuss.
Hubby tried the burger and he said it was delish.
My little one got the Mac and cheese with fries.
Everything looked yummy.
Atmosphere was calm and music was played softly in the background.

I think there was only one waitress/hostess there. And when I did get my food there was wax paper still in it, and the remake had a pretty large bone in it. (I know. Pulled chicken is horrible but I can’t have red meat)

This place surprised me all the way! I was expecting it to taste…more “city like” but the flavor is definitely a hit! With that barbecue grill taste most of us adore. (Not charcoal lol)Although I do like my sauce on my rib tips, the flavor of the meat was good enough to not have any sauce on it. They put it on the side and it actually pairs really nice with the flavor of the meat. The chili tasted like home . The garlic mashed potatoes were spot on in my opinion no gravy needed. They even have pickled onions which is my first time having, because I usually despise the taste of onions… And for me the customer service was really good. I will definitely be frequenting famous Dave’s.

I ordered to go as I am visiting. I’ve been craving bbq for a while and figured I’d give them a shot. I got a pick 3 with extra brisket, Jalapeño cheddar sausage, and burnt ends with fries and beans. Honest review; the Jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing. That hit the spot that I’ve been trying to itch for months. The brisket was alright. It had a bit of a chew to the edges as opposed to having a bark on it. Made it taste more like beef jerky than brisket. So that was a little disappointing. The burnt ends and garlic bread were cold, but over all okay flavor. The fries came cold, but were seasoned good. Beans have good flavor, little on the watery side but we’re nice and hot as well. But did I mention the sausage was amazing?

The first time stop was worth it. The Texas beef brisket was excellent. The atmosphere was top notch. I’ll stop by again, when I’m in the area.

Excellent cheese curds even if the price is ridiculous high for fried cheese. The two meat combo is only $2.00 higher than the single combo and I enjoyed two delicious options being the St. Louis Ribs and the Texas Brisket. The Mac and cheese was a very original blend of a classic with barely there jalapeno pieces and corn kernels and the cornbread muffins were moist and delicious. Also, the selection of sauces is fantastic, even if the names might be a little askew. The price is high coming in at about $50 including the tip for just myself. Other than that the atmosphere is pretty good and my particular server did her job.

Went there for lunch, and got there right after they opened. I ordered the burnt ends and Georgia chopped pork with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The burnt ends tasted warmed over and the mashed potatoes were gray and tasteless. I’m assuming leftover from the night before and reheated. The broccoli was good, as was the pork. I told the waitress that the mashed potatoes weren’t good, so she brought me a baked potato and it was fresh and very good. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. I was just disappointed with my food issues.

The food is great! We did have to wait for the sever a few times, but it is the only famous daves left in Indy near us. I hope they don’t close this one down! My husband loves the Cajun Chicken Sandwich. The rest of our family share the All-American BBQ Feast, we love that we can substitute sides if we’re ever not in the mood for the sweet beans, we love the coleslaw (never substituted that one). We always order the bread pudding, its enough for two. The banana pudding is delicious too!

Bbq food was good. A little overpriced for portion size. Was seated quickly. Had to wait a bit for server to come to table. However, once order was placed the food came out quickly. Staff friendly. Restaurant clean and inviting. Had baby back ribs good taste but had some gristle type spots that were inedible. Corn and beans were good.

I did an online order. I went to the pickup area, where there was a man waiting. He said he’d been there several minutes waiting for someone to come to the counter. Then we waited together several minutes, within full view of several staff in the kitchen and one in the adjacent bar. Then two more people came in, but still no one came to the counter. After we all waited several more minutes, the staff person from the bar finally said she would be over in a couple minutes. I finally got my order and took it home. It was, in a word, bad. The broccoli had dark brown spots on several of the pieces. The brisket was equal parts slimy fat and meat, so much so any decent grill master would’ve refused to serve it. The burnt ends were hard, dry and way overcooked. The chicken, mashed potatoes and corn bread were mediocre. We had a $70 order, but ended up throwing most of it away. Everything across the board was sub-par. Since Famous Dave’s doesn’t offer a button for comments or suggestions, I’m going to assume the “we don’t care” attitude is pervasive.
