First time ever in a Steak ‘n Shake. I wanted to try the fries cooked in beef tallow. What a disappointment. It was over priced for what it is. The burger wasn’t much bigger than a slider and the fries were shoestring, which isn’t my favorite. I couldn’t tell any difference in the taste of the fries either. We almost left because of the kiosk, it took us a good 15-20 minutes to understand exactly how it was set up and then find what we wanted and no one offered any assistance. We did get a couple dumb looks so.. there is that. After we finally figured it out I had a burger combo and Mom had a bowl of chili, onion rings and a drink. I think it was $27-28 total and we were both still hungry afterwards. We should have eaten at the Golden corral next door. You have to scan your receipt on the drink machine to activate it to work which is a pretty good idea. I’ve seen people come in off the street and fill their cups with soda and leave at Taco Bell and Burger King recently. Otherwise the place was nice and clean but we’ll likely never eat at another Steak n’ Shake. I honestly don’t know why anyone does. Maybe they have good shakes, I don’t know.

I have been a customer at S&S since the 1960’s. I traveled North America for my work for 30 + years. I would try to eat at S&S at least one time per week when availble. I live in Ocala, FL now, and when we started going to Costco in the Villages we stopped in S&S. Out of all the locations I have visited this location is by far the best. The food prepared properly, cleanliness of the location and most important to me are all the staff. They are all very professional,helpful,friendly and kind. The people truly exceeded my expectations. A big thank you.

It’s definitely a first for us , ordering from a kiosk. The establishment was clean, and the restrooms were clean. The food was good , not terribly hot, though . They forgot to put our sauce on the tray that we paid extra for . I ordered medium fries, and you couldn’t tell the difference from my wife’s order, and mine which she ordered small fries.
It’s not as good as I remember .

If I give give ZERO i would over 1hr wait ordered at 12:12pm never even got it before asking for a refund at 1:16pm this is crazy. They stalled on the refund and held cards while they tried to get caught up and now they can’t refund it due to systems its 1:39pm and they have had my card for 10 mins for a refund. Telling everyone to wait for the owner to get here for the refunds now.
Everyone in drive thru got there orders but anyone who came inside waited 1hr plus for food. This is crazy for fastfood
Im telling you to never support this owner or establishment.

1st time at Steak and Shake. I liked the order process, and having to scan for drinks. I have to say for a chain burger and fries, I found the meal had a great flavor. Would recommend this chain, it’s much better than McDonald’s, Burger King.

Terrible customer service, Terrible wait times over an hour and over an hour for a refund thats 2 hours of my time, kept saying wait for the owner over 10 people were asking for refunds. I hope they refunded me. This place needs new management and owners.

It’s very rare to find nice people working in the food industry around here anymore. I wanted to compliment Lamar because she was so nice and sweet and I came back in because they forgot my fries and she was so nice about it and apologized and even said the girl who made my food bag the first time wanted to apologize as well. That’s almost unheard of anymore. Not to mention my food was fresh and delicious!! I’ll definitely be coming back here

Not being able to refill the drinks I paid for is ridiculous. McDonald’s let’s you refill your fountain drink. Everywhere does. If you pay for a drink at any restaurant or fastfood place you can refill it. It’s bad enough no employee is there if there is a mistake with the food but I couldn’t even get a different drink. The one I picked was out of the flavor (syrup).

I will do this review and later go back to see if it is better .
My wife and I went to have lunch there on a Friday afternoon and was a little disappointed by the way they have changed the experience. We ordered using the app which was ok . We waited a long time to get our food ( more than 15 minutes ) since the cups were at the drink machine so I went to st least get our drinks but you have to scan a piece of paper to get the drinks machine to work but since we had no piece of paper ( given when you get your order ) Another customer yells st me ‘ You have to scan your paper” inferring that I was trying to cheat the system . A manager came out and I explained we had not gotten our order yet and would like to at least have drink we had paid for . He got the drinks for us and after another 10 minutes they got our order to us . And no paper to scan for refills which took me another 5 minutes to get a worker to get us a refill and he implied I had not paid for my drink .
I understand the reasoning behind not allowing non customers from filling drinks but this was a pain .
