It’s been a minute since we stopped here so the review will be a little shorter than usual.

What I remember, the bar was dated and the seats were not as clean as some would like. The name suggests keys are a big part of the place, which shows with all the keys in the table top, walls and bar area.

The food was good but nothing that made me say I really needed to come back.

I stopped in on a Friday afternoon for lunch and a drink or two. Since it was my first time here and still their busy season, I wasn’t sure what to expect—whether the food would be good or if we’d even get a table. To my surprise, we were seated right away, and our waitress greeted us immediately with a smile and took our drink orders. I didn’t catch her name, but she did a fantastic job keeping up with us despite having several tables to manage.

For food, I ordered a cup of chili topped with cheese and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. The chili was outstanding—perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick. Highly recommend it if you like a little spice! The food came out impressively fast, especially considering the place was nearly full. Honestly, the service was as quick as Jimmy John’s, but with a warmer, sit-down atmosphere.

The Keyhole Bar itself has such a unique and interesting décor that adds to the experience. Overall, it’s definitely worth a stop—whether you’re looking for a cold beverage, a great meal, or simply excellent service in a fun setting.

Not your average hole in the wall bar! The food was great and the Bloody Mary was really good. Service was fast and efficient, and our favorite part was how good the ranch was. We will definitely be back.

We had dinner at The Keyhole during our stay in Mackinaw City. It’s a charming little spot — a classic hole-in-the-wall bar with quirky decor that feels both local and tourist-friendly.

We started with the pretzel bites and cheese dip, but unfortunately, the bites were noticeably burnt. On a better note, the special perch sandwich was fantastic — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Vampire burger was also a highlight: juicy, creative, and delicious. Sadly, the fries with both meals were overcooked and tasted burnt, which took away from an otherwise great main course experience.

The biggest downside, though, was the service. Our server, who seemed like a long-time regular staff member, barely acknowledged us and spent more time chatting football with other tables. It felt like we were more of an interruption than a guest.

Overall, the food had standout moments, but the inconsistent execution and cold service left us with mixed feelings. Worth a try for the unique vibe and sandwich options, but maybe not our top pick next time around.

Friendly staff, SCRATCH food! They make their soups in house. Also – clean! potatoe skins were not prepackaged Gordon’s nonsense but two whole baked potatoes cooked to golden perfection with hot bubbly Colby jack, comes w sour cream and house made salsa.

Delicious food, great service, but portions seemed a bit small for what I paid. Open later than most restaurants in the area, so it made where to go for a later dinner an easy choice.

Nice bar! Snowmobiler friendly! Staff was excited and happy to have us there. Drinks were cold and served fast. Didn’t have an opportunity to try the food, but will be back to make sure I do!

I recently visited Keyhole Bar in Mackinac City. The food was okay—not the best I’ve had, but it was okay. What really stood out to me was the bar decor. There were keys everywhere—on the walls, on the tables—and they were fun to look at while dining. It gave the place a unique, quirky vibe.

The service was attentive, which I appreciated, and they had a wide variety of beer options to choose from. While the prices were a bit on the higher side, the overall experience was enjoyable. I’d recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and looking to eat and/or watch a televised game.
