This was our first time dining here. Beautiful atmosphere in the dining area which is on the other side of the building from the bar. The food was amazing. Our server, Jayden (Jaiden- sp?) was absolutely THE BEST! Great suggestions for desserts, knowledgeable about the specials and other menu items. Our drinks never ran dry. He was extremely professional and very kind. We will definitely be going back! Overall great experience! He even told us the backstory on the history of the restaurant which makes it that much more of a treasure in a small ENC city … It’s a MUST-SEE!!! Main entrees are moderately priced but heavy on quality (well worth every dollar spent)!! If you haven’t been here yet, you are missing out! The Irish decor is amazing! And, they have a Boar Store to buy swag & memorabilia! Too cool!

This is a hidden gem right off the highway that should definitely be a pit stop. The atmosphere is great. The staff are welcoming and know what to recommend. Our waitress Melodie was absolutely fantastic and made sure everything was as it should be. Definitely returning on my next trip.

What a random place in the middle of nowhere! It really does not look like it belongs there but it is really cool that it is part of a gated community neighborhood and still served the public. The restaurant has Celtics cathedral vibes and the store has funny shirts inside of pigs dancing on poles! The landscaping looking great and the boat statue/fountain was interesting laying the way he was. The inside is dark and quiet which allowed the stained glass to really show its beautiful colors! The staff was kind and let us choose between a dining booth or a booth at the bar (noisier so choose the left if you want peace and quiet) and our server was very sweet! We ordered the pork cheese nachos, definitely warm at perfect temperature and hit the spot. Then the brisket and ribs with perfectly cooked fried okra. The meat was so tender and fell apart easily and the sauce was good. There was not much seasoning in the meat for the appetizer or the meals but overall it was cooked well and very tender. Average prices for medium to high end restaurant dining which fit well for the location. This was an interesting place to stop and it felt like you stepped into another era when you walked inside!

We Love the Mad Boar. The building itself is a lot to take in, beautiful in every detail. The food has been great both times we’ve been. I would recommend asking patrons if they mind sitting in the same room a few feet from where they’re about to starting bearing drums & singing live.

We visited the mad bar on a Tuesday night. Only about four tables in the whole dining room. The waitress did not do a good job. We gave her our order which was two shrimp plates with slaw and two salads. The salads were great. The shrimp was extremely greasy and the container of slaw was about the size of a shot glass. No hush puppies no fries just shrimp and a tiny bit of slaw.
When she did come back to the table we ordered a molten lava cake and it was okay at best. $62 and we left her a 20% tip. We would have been better off at Bojangles across the street. I’m sure the food would have been less greasy. I’ve only been here three or four times over the last 20 years but this was definitely my last one.

Excellent!!!! I ordered the Calabash Shrimp and slaw with potatoe wedges. It was great. My server was great. Highly recommended. The shrimp tasted like they came fresh from the ocean. It was a very good meal.

We stopped at Mad Boar for dinner during a long drive home, not quite sure what to expect from the outside or the menu—but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty across the board, with generous portions and fair prices.

Service was friendly, and there was plenty of seating, which made for a comfortable break from the road. Definitely a great roadside find—we’d stop again.

Mad Boar Restaurant was an amazing experience!!! The building is remarkable and very clean. The menu had so many options fit for everyone in the family. We went on a day that live music was playing, which made the experience even more pleasurable. The staff was friendly, bathrooms clean and well stocked, and there was even a small shop that sold t-shirts and unique cups. The steak was one of the best steaks I have had in a very long time. It paired very well with a glass of red wine. We really enjoyed spending time with the family here and being able to treat our son who was visiting from out of town. We would definitely drive the hour drive to come here again.
