I noticed the quaint spot about 5yrs ago while I was staying in Kirkwood on a trip and knew I needed to visit one day. Bonus that it is also a Black owned business as well with a sweet origin story!
There are plenty of places to sit including back and front dining areas and an outside patio.
I can definitely see this being a great place to hold bookclub meetings, tea parties, cute birthday gatherings, and more!
Menu had plenty to choose from and everything sounded delicious and was reasonably priced. Service and management were great too!
Don’t be afraid to stop in; I’m so glad that my friends and I did!
I ordered the catfish and grits, raspberry lemonade, and a marche coffee, and everything was absolutely delicious. The catfish was crispy and flavorful, perfectly paired with creamy, well-seasoned grits. The raspberry lemonade was refreshing and not overly sweet, and the marche coffee was the perfect smooth finish to the meal.
Great food is one thing, but excellent service makes all the difference and Kelsey truly delivered. I’ll definitely be back!
First, if you are lucky enough to have Martin as your server, consider yourself truly blessed. Martin is professional, personable, charismatic and absolutely phenomenal at making you feel welcomed and valued as a customer.
Second, the food was freshly prepared, hot, savory, and sraight out of your grandma’s kitchen (cause nobody does like grandma). I ordered “Georgia’s best breakfast sandwich” and can now confirm wholeheartedly why they received the award. I’ve never had any breakfast sandwich that would come close to being soooo good!
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and has a rear seating area reminiscent of your grandma’s kitchen.
Truly, it was an amazing and unique brunch experience. I just wish that they would open a restaurant in Fayetteville!!!!
Probably the most food I’ve gotten for the price in the city of Atlanta in a while.
Ordered the French toast sandwich and the Grit stack.
Demolished the sandwhich with the fried chicken, sweet enough didn’t even need the syrup.
The Grit stack definitely a lot of food and grits were perfect not too thick or watery and the biscuit was fluffy and awesome with the jelly.
Service was a little awkward as we had to ask for water and took a while to take our order but wouldnt take that away from the restaurant.
Plus a beautiful story especially how historic Kirkwood is to the city of Atlanta.
Would come back to chill outside and eat again.
