The moment you step inside, you’re transported straight back to the 1980s. The decor alone is worth the visit. From vintage posters and arcade-style video games lining the bar to nostalgic icons like Cabbage Patch Kids, early cell phones, Walkmans, Watchmans, and more than a few nods to Back to the Future and the DeLorean, the space is a carefully curated time capsule. It’s playful without feeling cluttered, and whether you grew up in the era or just appreciate the aesthetic, it’s hard not to smile. If nothing else, go in just to soak it all in — it’s a genuine blast from the past.
As for the food, I ordered two chili dogs — one with cheese and one with slaw. Both were solid and satisfying, exactly what you’d expect from a classic American hot dog. The chili had good flavor, and the toppings were balanced. That said, there wasn’t anything particularly distinctive about them; the overall experience was comparable to what you might grab at a well-stocked convenience store. The main standout, unfortunately, was the price. You’re paying more for the atmosphere than for culinary innovation. Still, if you’re in the mood for nostalgia with a side of comfort food, it delivers on that front.

If you’re a fan of the 80’s and hot dogs, this is your place! Great dogs and topping options, kids even get their names written in ketchup on their dogs! Great potato salad too!

FANTASTIC!!!

1st visit and did not disappoint.

Hot dogs and sides were great!

Decor is amazing. They did a great job curating all the cool 1980s memorabilia.

Angie was super polite and generous. Food prices were fair. Canned sodas and games to play while you wait.

I would highly recommend this place and suggest that you leave a rating to help others!

This was a fun experience! The decor is so cool! All 80’s theme. I even got to play PacMan while waiting on our hot dogs. The owner was very friendly and took the time to talk to us. And the dogs were delicious!

First, this is as advertised- a hot dog shop that serves up 80’s nostalgia. One customer who was around my age was showing her daughter some of her favorite things from the time period; this made me feel old, but the hot dogs were worth it. To describe them- artistry in a bun. I never had a dog served like this, and as I saw a few orders go out before mine, the care and attention to detail of the presentation was on point. It is worth the visit!

I’m very picky when it comes to hot dogs and these are really great. The chili dogs are amazing and a great array of side dishes too. Nice laid back 80’s atmosphere.

Talk about an 80’s explosion! The restaurant is also a museum of collectibles. It’s hard to find anything that isn’t represented! Initial photos only scratch the surface of what’s to see inside this wonderful trip back to the 80’s!

But we came here for hot dogs right? That you shall get including a Valley Dog and a Cool Ranch Dog and other phenomenal choices. There’s a very delicious dog for every taste.

As this is also an extension of their bubble tea business, there are many flavors to choose from!

Hot Dog and Bubble Tea! I got the Creamsicle first, and it was the perfect companion to the dogs!

And to top it off, the owner Dwayne is a really nice guy and a treasure trove of knowledge. Don’t be shy to talk with him. He loves to talk about his museum pieces.

If you have any steam to let off, you can throw axes next door!

It’s like getting museum admission for free for the fair price on some of the best hot dogs in the region.

Visited this restaurant while exploring Maggie Valley and enjoyed this hidden Gem. The owners are collectors of sci-fi and other 80s themed games/pieces.

The food was decent but not anything that would win an award. Overall, still gave this a 5 star review because the combination of service and passion that went into decorating this place makes it worth a quick bite to eat if you’re visiting.

This place is awesome!
Fun to look around and see the memories.
And do yourself a favor and order the “Dwayne’s Way” hot dog.
Hands down THE BEST hot dog both my husband and myself have ever eaten. And combined- that’s 100 years of opinion.

I will retain my 5th Star until the owner receives his Terminator standup… All jokes aside… Valley Dog is an 80’s Kid Dream House of Memorabilia!!! Their prices are UNBELIEVABLE!!! When you go away on vacation & stop at a place that has a 2 for $5 Hot Dog Special on Wednesdays with the fixings you CANNOT go WRONG!!! Then you can add on a bag of chips & a drink for cheap & you got yourself a SUPER AFFORDABLE lunch especially if traveling with kids!!!

I went to Valley Dog with my son three times and all three times was the highlight of our trip as I told him stories about SNLs Mr. Bill & the story of the California Raisins as he pointed out the certain things that captured his attention!!! We will be back with more people next year when we return!!!

The staff ROCKS and also LOVES the 80’s so speaking with them is not a business gimmick these guys TRULY loves the era & everything about it… If you LOVE the 80’s and passing through Maggie Valley PUT THIS STOP in your GPS!!!
