Wow! The food was amazing but I won’t lie I will be back for the atmosphere for sure! It was like we stepped into a classic movie scene. And just when the adorable diner was soaking in I walked back to “the lounge” and wished we were able to sit here and have a cocktail with some of the locals. Definitely make the stop if you are anywhere close by!

November 15th. 2025 El Camino Restaurant Always has Delicious food. This time My husband was served uncooked corn tortillas. For Taco Burgers. He also let our Kind waitress know, that he didn’t want any Garnish. No Garnish. Our Nice waitress did write it down on her ticket. No Garnish. Guess what. There was lettuce on his meal. Oh My Goodness! Plus My meal was Single Beef Burrito. Nicely made. I’m not ever one to complain. But my pinto beans were cold. Really! The rest of meal. Was delicious. Just come on Really. Cold Beans. Well I wanted to share. Yes we are always going back to Eat at El Camino. Very very Delicious food. Our Nice, Kind Waitress did her waitress Job. Professionally. You go Girl!

As I was driving through Socorro, New Mexico; I decided to try something different. I saw the sign and pulled in. It was definitely an older establishment. Didn’t know what to expect.
Ordered the basic and traditional enchiladas with red chile. I’m glad I did.
The food was super good and the prices were very reasonable. Plenty of food on the plate.
I think the servers name was Nalina. She was very nice and polite. Even though they were short staffed, she was on it.
If you’re ever driving through Socorro, NM; I would definitely recommend stopping in at this delicious place..

My favorite place to eat in Socorro because of the consistency and generous portions. I know what to expect when I make an order here unlike other places in town where you never know what to expect depending on the cook. Service is hit and miss. Sometimes your server cares and sometimes they’re so overwhelmed you better stay out of their way. It’s usually good service though for the most part. I have a few favorites on the menu including the el Camino special burger, the smothered burger plate, the #8 double breakfast burrito plate, the #16 huevos rancheros with a beef patty and they have the best chile cheese fries in town.

Step back in time at this roadside diner.….We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Carrizozo several years ago and were happy to see it still in business. Authentic New Mexico food. Hatch Chili can’t be beat. Friendly people. Nothing fancy but great food! Our family loved it.

This restaurant has an extensive menu that includes burgers, Southwest selections, steaks and salads, to name only a few.

I chose a platter that included a tamale, a chili relano, and a cheese enchilada. The platter was HUGE! The tamale was tasty and the chili relano was the best I have ever had. The cheese enchilada was adequate.

The service was quick and efficient. The servers checked several times to be sure I had everything I needed.

A fun thing about this restaurant is the mix of Southwest and mid century decor. It has a diner vibe that harkens back to the 50s or 60s.

Food is excellent and portions are generous. Wait staff is always friendly. Love the vintage 1950s road sign in the parking lot and the panelled dining room – it brings back memories of a simpler time. The fact that there are so many “locals” dining here means this place is a standby, and it’s easy to understand why.

8 buck n change, for the biggest and one of the best Navajo tacos I’ve ever had. They got quite a menu too, everything nm and contintental you could want, great exotic sea food options, and all very affordable. Always friendly, quick, awesome service. Anytime I pass through socorro I’m tempted to stop here, even if I’m not that hungry
