If you like snacks best go to the store and buy some, it’ll be cheaper and probably better tasting. The portions regarding of a “main” dish or appetizer are just way too small and way to over priced. If you want to fall into a pretentious trap that tries to run with the cover of being some exquisite cuisine then this is your place. That is if you’re a fool. I asked for a beer and asked if it was cold, when brought over it wasn’t. The service was slow and poor. The drink the misses had was made with old rotten produce and the lime was dry, whoever it’s running that bar needs firing. The glasses still dirty with the lip marks of the last perons and Lord know it might had been persons. The music was in Spanish which we speak and was the most disgusting, disrespectful trash that you can hear. Clearly they are counting with their clients to be the type that sees this place and listens to the music and say “how exotic!”, yeah, no. The taste was bland and the over use of the sauce seemed like a failed attempt to try and mask or give it taste. Neither. The plates where broken and cheap looking. Trust me, don’t go unless you’re a pretentious masochist. Will not return and can’t tell you DO NOT GO enough. Skip all the way.

A modern take on Mexican food, definitely a bit pricey but if you get the 6 Gallitos for the table not a bad deal since you can probably make about 9 tacos with what they give you. The Sopes were great as well! If you want to try something new give it a try it just might surprise you ✨!

The worst restaurant experience I’ve had in Cambridge.
First visited shortly after they opened last year and walked away unimpressed. A mediocre, overpriced meal that felt like it was designed for uninspired business lunches rather than actual dining. The steak was dry, the cheese enmoladas were tough, and the portions were small. Still, I decided to give them another shot.
Unfortunately, it was way worse.We came back on a nice day for a casual dinner on the patio. The host was friendly, and we were seated right away. Then, nothing. For over 30 minutes, no one came by to take our order.
Several servers stood chatting at the bar, occasionally making eye contact, but we were repeatedly ignored. A few walked past our table without so much as a greeting. I even placed the menu at the edge of the table as a clear signal, but still, no response. To make matters worse, a party that was seated 15 minutes after us had their order taken first, while we were still waiting for someone to even acknowledge us.
I’ve eaten at hundreds of restaurants in Cambridge, and while service can vary, I’ve never experienced a place that seemed so actively indifferent. Can’t imagine this place lasting long.

July 4, 2025- The modern and vibrant Mestizo Restaurant was full of life tonight. The staff was pleasant, friendly, and downright awesome. Food was great, drinks fantastic and the DJ was magnificently exciting.

Stopped by on a Sunday for Labor Day weekend with some friends for lunch. I’d definitely would revisit.
Portions are perfect got the cuban sandwich (could’ve used a couple more slices of meat). They brought out some guacamole and it tasted fresh.

Drinks were delicious. Atmosphere had a great vibe. I ordered the shrimp tacos and the shrimp tasted like they were reheated. My friend ordered the flank steak which was ok but our meals were out within 5-10 min and seemed reheated. Overall nice spot for drinks.

We were a group of five and had such a great experience. We ordered a parrillada, a birria ramen, and some sopes as appetizers — everything was delicious and full of flavor. Our server, Paula, was wonderful! She recommended some drinks that turned out to be absolutely perfect and so tasty. She’s new to Boston, and we wish her the very best — she’s already doing an incredible job.
Highly recommend this place, and definitely ask for Paula when you visit.

We grabbed lunch at Mestizo today and we had good food…tacos and burritos. Server was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere was very nice and clean.
