Small unique resturant located next too and over looking the Root River in downtown Lansboro. Seating was outside but with a large covered area. Upon entering food orders are placed at front counter with open kitchen behind. Very small menu, indicating chef based dishes that will be amazing. We ordered margaritas. Food was smash burger and the special was fish tacos. We sat in covered area with amazing views. Waitress was actually the owner and wife of the chef. We learned about the resturant with very interesting stories from the owner. The smash burger with truffle fries was prepared perfect with dense rich flavors. The fish tacos were veey refreshing with whole food tastes and depth. The pickled onions were perfect addition to the fresh veggies. The fish was prepared perfect. We want to return to try other dishes. The Italian choices looked very interesting. The margaritas complimented our meals perfectly. The resturant had a local friendly feeling. Definitely top resturant in the area.

My daughter’s bachelorette party went to Juniper for supper. Although we didn’t have a reservation, the staff made every effort to make sure we got a table in the upstairs dining room as it was a bit too cool for the patio.
The restaurant was busy but staff checked on us often and our food came quickly. We ordered a variety of items off the menu and each person was very satisfied with their choice! I highly recommend Juniper’s for the food and the excellent service. I will definitely stop in again when I am in the area. Thank you for making a special day even better.

The pictures from other reviews pulled me in here and it is a cool location. It really does give a very neat dinning experience. They seat you initially and then give you a menu to look over. You then go inside to the register to place an order and pay. They ask at that point if you would like to pay in full or leave open a tab. They then give you a small order tracker thing that you place on your table and they come with your food and take the tracker after they delivered. It’s an interesting concept and it worked fine for the setting.
We were sat at a table with a broken leg that had been duck taped together but no matter what we did, the table tipped to one side and was wobbly. The chairs were plastic lawn chairs so you have to adjust them carefully. While we were there fairly early, we were sat next to another group that had just arrived as well and thought we could have been spread out more since there were many free tables when we arrived. These things considered, we thought the prices were high for our cramped, broken table.
The food was good though. I had ordered the mushroom soup and husband got the salmon. It was tasty but again, the plastic chairs and tables felt like they didn’t belong with the higher end menu. It could have been an amazing experience but fell short with our table and the fact that we felt a bit as though we were all herded to one area.

It was a busy Friday evening. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were even greeted by the chef when we opened the front door. Nice menu with a few daily specials. I have food allergies and the staff was very accommodating to my request. I had their pasta of the day. It was delicious. A delicate mix of ingredients and pasta cooked to perfection. The friends and family with me loved the meals they ordered. If you are in the Lanesboro area and love good food, prepared fresh daily – this is your stop.

Excellent, quaint little restaurant with small town charm in Lanesboro. Quiet and scenic location next to the Root River. Beautiful patio area too. Very, knowledgeable, friendly sraff that give detailed information about the specials and guest favorites. Mushroom Soup was quite possibly the best we’ve ever eaten! Creamy, bisque-like flavor perfectly seasoned and loved the chive oil/popcorn garnish. Would have loved a gallon to go. My Buttermilk Brined Fried Chicken Sandwich was made with a chicken thigh instead of the usual breast. Made for a far juicier and crisper sandwich. Great idea! Bun was a little too toasted on top but, was quite delicious. Partner’s California Burrito had excellent guacamole and fresh salsa wich packed a punch! Unfortunately, the French Fries didn’t really work inside. Wound up getting soggy. Tender Carne Asada more than made up for that. Planning to stay in town for a vacation next year and would love to try dinner.

Wonderful Lanesboro gem! Known for their mushroom soup – but everything is wonderful. We stopped for multiple evening dinners on our trip – Junipers kept us coming back. Have us the chance to try multiple entrees as well as some signature cocktails. The mushroom soup was better than advertised, the Mahi Mahi so good it was sold out mid-evening. Tortellini was over the top wonderful. Staff was fast and courteous, even taking time to explain the 18 month risotto aging process! Plenty of parking on street or in nearby Lanesboro public lots.

This is a fantastic place! The owners took time to get to know us and share about the menu! Everything was amazing, good drinks, excellent cheese curds and the smash burger was delicious. My friends enjoyed the Tortellini and you for sure can’t go wrong with the 5 star mushroom soup. This is a must visit in Lanesboro!

The process to order was a little disorganized. You check in with the host, are seated, then you go back up to put your order in, then they bring you the food. It was a congested area so several people in the restaurant were confused with the process. The food was good and the wait staff were friendly. Nice views of the river from the back patio area.

First, this place serves some of the best food in Lanesboro but it is very disorganized and by far the most expensive fast casual dining you will ever have.
The dining experience is not what we expected. Tho we made reservations, that merely holds a table. The rest of the experience is basically the same as a Culvers, where you wait to order at a counter and then your food is brought to your table (but they also give you a beeper, have no idea why).
The cocktails were terrible. Not sure if they were just made wrong or that is how they are. Both of what we ordered were terrible.
The mushroom soup was spectacular.
The fried chicken was very good.
The pasta was boring.
We ordered pie and to be honest, it tasted about the same as frozen pie from the grocery store.
For every course, I had to go to the counter and wait in line.
The staff was not rude but seem to be wandering without purpose asking people if they ordered the food they were holding even tho we were all at numbered tables and had beepers.
Our meal, cocktails (2) and deserts were $127.
I have been here a few times over the past few years and had the same basic experience.
The location on the river is excellent. The food is above average for Lanesboro.

Fantastic restaurant in the perfect spot, right on the river in Lanesboro. You can tell flavors are carefully crafted and balanced.
We had the ravioli, walleye and our kids had the burro burgers and we upgraded to truffle fries. The ravioli was perfectly done and the garlic bread was excellent. The walleye was so good and the creme chive fresh to go with it was so good! Burger loving adult son raved about his burger and fries.
You order at the counter, but in a town like lanesboro where staffing is short, it is a great solution to get high quality restaurant with limited staffing.
Would recommend to anyone!
