The restaurant was extremely busy when we went, which clearly shows how popular it is. There was a bit of a long wait time for seating and food, but it was completely understandable given the crowd. Even with the rush, the staff did a wonderful job managing everything. They were polite, organized, and tried their best to serve everyone efficiently. The service felt genuine and welcoming, not rushed or careless.
The ambience is one of the best parts of SKB. It has a warm, family friendly atmosphere with a lively yet comfortable vibe. It’s a great place to visit with family and friends, and the energy inside makes the dining experience enjoyable.
For food, we ordered thalis, dosa, dahi vada, and masala vada. The thalis were good and satisfying, offering a nice variety of items. The dosa was well-prepared and tasty. However, both the dahi vada and masala vada were just average compared to the rest of the meal. They weren’t bad, but they didn’t stand out in terms of flavor. Still, overall the food quality was good and enjoyable.
Despite the slight wait and a couple of average dishes, the overall experience from the ambience to the service made it worth the visit. I would definitely come back again, maybe during a less busy time.
The Pongal is a must-try — perfectly cooked, mildly spiced, and incredibly comforting, just like homemade. Filter coffee was the perfect way to end the meal. Warm service and a simple, clean ambience make this a place you’ll want to keep coming back to.
Thank you for bringing such authentic flavors to Bellevue. Highly recommend for anyone craving real South Indian food!
There are many other South Indian vegetarian options on the menu as well. The filter coffee was very good.
I also spoke with the owner, who was very kind and passionate about serving fresh South Indian vegetarian food to people in the Greater Seattle area.
This place is a real addition and something special for this area. I will definitely come here again.
We ordered 1 rasam, 1 spring dosa, 1 Onion rava masala dosa, and 1 idli sambhar. Rasam and idli was okay. The quantity of sambhar for idlis and both dosas was small half katori. “Masala ( potato stuffing) in onion rava masala dosa was like two spoons in the entire dosa of $17 along with a small half katori of sambhar and 3 chutneys. All chutneys were super cold, just like they were served right from fridge.
Spring dosa was very different than what they had displayed in the picture. Spring dosa had a big chunk of cabbage and bell pepper with potato stuffing.
The two stars I am rating are only for humbleness and politeness for the owners who were visiting each table and making sure customer’s order has been served. I couldn’t feel the same humbleness and politeness from one other server there.
Service was super slow as well. I would not recommend visiting this place if you’re going for dosa. It doesn’t make any sense to pay $17-$18 per meal and it doesn’t make you feel full.
