Many good pizza places in SLO. In order to survive and thrive each one needs their own edge or favorite. For Nucci it is all about Their basic cheese pizza. Sure, other toppings and options are good, bread sticks nice and salads good, but basic classic cheese pizza is to die for. Excellent mix of cheeses and just the right amount of sauce. I don’t feel good leaving a 1 star review over cheesecake at a pizza place, especially since their pizza was good last time I had it.
But the cheesecake I just got today was truly disgusting. Revolting. This place used to have the best cheesecake I have ever had, truly amazing. But this doesn’t even taste like cheesecake, not even cheap cheesecake. It tastes and looks overcooked, and as if after being overcooked it was left out for a full day at least, presumably covered somewhere warm/hot (it’s crust is soggy and discolored). I’m somewhat concerned it will leave me a bit stomach sick tomorrow.
I spent $5 for this slice and am throwing out all but the bite I ate.

This is probably our favorite restaurant overall. The pizza is fantastic and in our opinion, is the best pizza we have ever had. It appears to be a small family-owned business and as such they take care of their customers and treat them well. In turn, they have our loyal business. The cost is very reasonable, especially if you get the Dinner Special (1 medium 2 topping pizza, 2 salads of your choice, 2 bread sticks) for less than $30.

The best lunch specials. Fast, fresh and friendly! Couldn’t ask for a better spot! I’ve tried everything here from the specialty pizzas, to the lasagna, pastas, all the salads and sandwiches everything has been so amazing! Let’s not forget the breadsticks I dream of them! This place is a local gem and a must try!

Nucci’s is the best pizza in California. It is ALWAYS good, with such a great unique taste. The salads are yummy and they are very generous with the mix ins for them. I could eat Nucci’s every day.
