I didn’t realize Food A Fare existed until this morning. So glad to have found them. They call their menu comfort food. I would call it real food. Reminds me of the kind of food my mom use to make.
Everyone eating there said how good everything on their menu is. I tried the beef tips with mashed potatoes and Barb had the Italian Salad.
The person who ordered before us recommended the meat loaf which I almost ordered. Probably will on our next visit.
One customer jokingly told me not to order the pot roast and then proceeded to tell me how great it was.
We asked another customer about the fired pork-loin sandwich. He said was great and you can’t go wrong by ordering anything on the menu.
We didn’t order any dessert by they looked great too.

Some of the best comfort food you can gwt around the area. The owners are amazing, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere has myself and household returning again and again. The pot pie is a favorite as is the pot roast and you can’t skip the incredible deserts. I always have to get an extra Ski too while my girlfriend goes for something new every visit.

Food a Fare has awesome lunch. I love their Friday special which is a filet steak kabob that you can eat with a plastic fork. Desserts are awesome too although I’m usually too full to get one.

My favorite restaurant in East Alton. It’s like eating at your Grandma’s house, you can feel the love that is put into the food and the owners are the nicest people!!

My daughters and I had the Turkey dinners. It really was just as good as home if not better. You get alot of Turkey and all the food is flavorful but those REAL mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing are AMAZING!! You will not be disappointed.

We recently had Food A Fare cater our wedding reception and wow! They were amazing! Chef Mike and Nyla made the process so easy. They were wonderful to work with and we didn’t worry about a thing. And the food….oh my gosh the food…..it was so delicious. Most of our guests were going back for seconds and kept asking us who the caterer was. We were so blessed to have them and am very thankful for everything they did to make our day special. If you are looking for someone to cater your event look no further. Trust me when I say Food A Fare is the one! Thank you Chef Mike and Nyla for everything. We will forever be grateful to you both!

Food is fantastic and tastes like home cooking. Staff is really friendly. You get your food really quick. The pot roast is my favorite. I’ve tried several things and it’s all good. The restaurant is clean and spacious. You get a lot of food for the price. The pot roast is tender and they use the natural meat juices for their gravy. No bullion flavored gravy there. I’ve done both dine in and take out. Their Mac and Cheese is really good as is their fried potatoes.
