I’ve been eager to visit Corteza since they opened three months ago, and after dining there last night, I can say it exceeded every expectation. This is true haute cuisine an incredible menu designed by Chef Rafael where the food is the absolute protagonist.
The space is cozy and versatile, offering indoor seating, a great counter experience, and outdoor options. From the moment you sit down, they set the tone with sourdough bread served with high quality olive oil and Maldon salt simple, yet flawlessly executed.
We explored a significant portion of the menu, and every dish was impeccably prepared. The Hiramasa Tiradito and Tuna Aguachile were incredibly fresh, and the Octopus & Pork Belly Skewers were a standout for their perfect char and flavor profile. You cannot miss the 5J Jamón Ibérico Croquetas or the Scallops & Leeks. For something heartier, the Oxtail & Fire Sando is a must try. We finished with their Cheesecake (Torta de Queso), which is honestly on another level.
The wine selection is impressive, and the staff is highly knowledgeable they guided us through the menu with perfect pairing suggestions.
Pro tip: Keep an eye on their social media. They frequently host collaborative dinners with guest chefs, which look like unique, one of a kind experiences. If you appreciate Spanish inspired fusion where every cook and temperature is spot on, Corteza is a 10/10.

This was an amazing experience at a small family run restaurant. The service is excellent and they have a great happy hour at the bar where the wines are buy one get one by the glass!
The food is also very high quality, everything is flavorful and the basque cheesecake is one of the best I’ve ever had.

Decided to check this restaurant out with my family. I had the paella and it was delicious. Diego was our server and he provided great service with an excellent attitude. The restaurant vibes were so relaxing and inviting.

A fantastic addition to South Miami. We came by for dinner and all I can say is Wow! Menu is limited but everything we had was phenomenal. Perfectly balanced and well executed. The croquettas were UNBELIEVABLE. Honestly the best I’ve ever had. The Oxtail and Fire was a big hit- tender and juicy. As was the chicken sando. Great portions. Amazing flavors. Exceptional service. Thank you, Mauricio, for being so nice and attentive!! We ate outside – place has great music and a fun vibe. Finished the night off with their Talamasca CHEESECAKE – which was divine – light and airy perfection. Not your average cheesecake by miles. We also tried the sweet potato flan do yourself a favor and save room for this dessert!! This place is a must try. P.S they have a great happy hour from 4-7 M-F And a Sunday brunch from 12-5 with Paella We will definitely return!
