Fantastic food, service, and friendly. The food is delicious and service is very quick. Very attentive to your requests and you never need to wait for a drink. The menu has an unbelievably fantastic offering of food normally in a high end restaurant. The food is fantastic and won’t break the bank.

The food was absolutely amazing — every bite packed with flavor and care. I honestly haven’t had food this good anywhere else in the USA. The people were just as incredible — warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in both the service and the food. Can’t wait to go back!

I never would have guessed I would be getting such a great meal in the middle of nowhere, but I did. We were traveling leisurely and found an AirBnb here and saw the owner ran this “tavern”. So we had to stop in for a bite to eat. Well, it was great. Both my wife and I got fish dishes and they were done perfect! Also the prices were great for the quality of the food. The owner, Richard, was super friendly to everyone in the place and it shows he really cares about the food and people working and eating there.
My wife are already talking about how we can get back here for another meal!

Hidden gem. We drove from Baudette because the restraunts in Baudette are closed on the weekends. The Hawk Tavern is by far the best food and service I’ve had in a long time. The food was amazing and at a reasonable price for the level of quality. When we walked in, a party of 6, there weren’t any available tables. We left the building, and the owner/chef came out and offered a separate room for us. He said he does not like turning away customers. He checked on us after we ate. Very friendly and a master chef. He said they do not take reservations, but to please call ahead, and he can let you know if there is availability. This is worth the drive from Baudette or Warroad. Highly recommend and will return.

My husband and I went on a date here. The customer service was very friendly and helpful. The menu was so full of delicious flavors, we were indecisive. We ordered the salmon .. as an appetizer. The dish had such Amazing flavors! Then as a main course we shared a ribeye special with crab legs. Exquisite flavors and amazing presentation. The atmosphere is relaxed and definitely appropriate for a date night. But the food is very high end! Can’t wait to try more.

Walked in to eat because of a friends referral. Was not real busy in the evening we were there and sat fown at a table. We patiently waited for 10 minutes without one employee even acknowledging us. Watched a family of five sit down at a table and were immediately taken care of. That was it for me we immediately walked out. Will NOT be back!

Big city feel restaurant for out in the far north! The food was the best I’ve had in warroad or baudette area. You can really tell the chef cares about the taste and presentation of the food.
Only downside is that it’s a little ways outside of town, but I’d say it’s worth it.

First time going and finally went cause I’ve been hearing nothing but people RAVING…best food I’ve had at a restaurant in probably my entire life. Steak was cooked so well with so much flavor and the quac..wasn’t even on the menu but the man of the hour (Mr. Morris) got it done again!! And he just winged it!!! Tasted like no quac I’ve ever had and it was sooooo flavorful!!! And I sooooo much appreciated how he sat with guests and just chatted about anything and everything! Such a down to earth place and feeling- just what northern MN should be about!! Will definitely be the place we eat out from this day forward!!
