We have been there many times, usually dinner and always good in all aspects. Recently stopped for lunch and the service was great and food quality was good. We were a little disappointed in the value considering the portion for the cost. It was a fish sandwich that came with soup, the fish was fresh, nicely breaded and fried but very thin with more lettuce and roll (dry) than fish. The soup was delicious but a small cup and although costs have gone up on everything, we thought it was a little high ($14). For the amount we thought it should be a little more fish to balance with the roll and lettuce or larger/additional side. We will go back for sure.

Ray’s may be one of the most under-rated restaurants in the area. Formerly The Ontario Hotel, this location has a long and varied history in Norwich. The current owner-chef has expanded the menu to include a huge variety of options. His Mexican, Italian, Greek and ‘All-American’ recipes are top notch. The prices are comparable to other local eateries and the portions are huge. The decor is nothing special but don’t let that fool you – the food certainly is!

First off, the service was incredible and was on time. And there was no wait time, so it was incredible and fast. My server was very nice and welcoming, I enjoyed my time at this restaurant and the food was incredible! Secondly, the waitresses are very sweet and nice. I will come back! This was awesome! We purchased a gift card on December 7 for my mother-in-law and it was never mailed out. I contacted the restaurant several times and finally spoke to the owner, Ray, on Christmas Eve. He kept repeating, “We do not do gift cards over the phone.” I asked him why he charged my credit card on December 7 if they do not do gift cards over the phone? I told him that I would call my credit card company with him on the line, and he said that I should call him back with them on the line. When I had them on the line tried calling him back, he would not answer the phone. Very unprofessional. Ray does not care about his customers or his reputation.

The food was delicious! I had the Chicken Francese and I loved it. My husband had a Greek chicken wrap with fries. He loved his as well. And our friend had a crab cake on a roll with fries. Which she thought was delicious And we got vampire fries for an appetizer… sooooo good!

Found during a google search for a place to eat while traveling through town. We arrived near end of lunch time but waitress said she would get us food. Was told under new ownership and waitress could not answer all questions we asked. After food arrived the lights were shut off in dining area as it was considered”closed” until dinner time but we could remain to finish our food. A bit awkward. The avocado salad was ok. Chicken pieces a bit dry and dressing had a bit too much vinegar. The burrito was folded as opposed to rolled so the tortilla was thick and chewy. Burnt on one side. No salsa. Bland seasonings. Other two meals at table were just ok. Bonus was the order of French fries. They came out hot and crispy.

We ordered take out lunch for the first time and everyone was very happy with their meal. We got wraps, sandwiches and salads. Definitely will order from them again.

Delicious! We had dinner on 2/28/25. Early bird special is a great deal! Fresh garden salad, fried haddock that was not greasy, excellent fries. We took the carrot cake home because we were too full!
