”I’ve been a peaceful, paying regular in this neighborhood for over a year and a half, but the service from one specific staff member, Mary, has become unacceptable. This bartender (who works here and at another local bar, Players) is actively targeting me. She will ignore me while serving the entire room, wait for me to pay for a drink, and then seize the beverage I just paid for 2 minutes later and tell me to get out for no reason. This isn’t just a bad attitude; it is harassment and theft of service. I am accepted fine by all other staff, so it is clear this individual is using her position to settle a personal grudge. Owners should know she is driving away good customers.”

If you want to be threatened to be “taken outside” by the “owner” for spilling some beer on a pool table, sure, make this dump your regular! If you want “regulars” to gang up on you for being out of town, sure, great place. Do yourself a favor and go to the 100 other good bars in town and miss this absolute dive! If zero stars was an option, I’d give negative 5!

Stop asking if you should go, just do it. Excellent ambiance and customer service. A great place to go to watch the Packers. Bartender Bill and Karington are Amazing!!! You won’t be disappointed.

Ideal is a great cash only dive bar. We go here quite often and bring our puppy. The bartenders are great and it’s filled with locals. Two pool tables, a dart board in the back, and a long bar with lots of seats.

An aggressive, creepy man harassed and put his hands on my female friend and I when we stopped in to play some pinball on a Monday night. Everyone standing around said and did nothing. When we complained about him to the bartender, he threw his hands up with a grin on his face and also… did nothing. If you are a woman who likes getting harassed while other men stand there and watch it happen and even the bartender won’t lift a finger to help, this is the place for you.
UPDATE: IT GETS EVEN WORSE. I ran into the bartender in question at another bar recently. I brought up how scary it was to not only be harassed that night, but to not have bar staff (him) lift a finger to intervene. I was accused of “buying him a drink” (no), “talking to him like you guys were friends” (NO), as well as other dismissive comments. He was literally blaming me for my own harassment at the hands of this one creepy guy. It was actually appalling listening to him victim blame and minimize the harassment I experienced–with a big grin on his face, no less. I actually had to walk away in disgust. In conclusion: The Ideal Bar has hired misogynist, victim blaming, harassment minimizing bartenders. Women, if you get harassed at The Ideal (unless Mary is working), you are on your own. Keep that in mind when deciding whether or not to go here.

Hopped by after happy hour margaritas & tacos across the street. This spot was an awesome no-frills bar. They’ve got a private room in the back, two pool tables. Juke box, pull tabs, tv on for football games (the lions were playing so I was tuned in). Beer on draft and also cans. Bartender was easy-going. The only pic I took was in the bathroom stall, haha. There’s a male bathroom and a female bathroom.

This place is garbage. Bartenders are super unfriendly and rude, the environment is trashy and boring. Don’t waste your time. This place should be called The Buzz Kill Bar. Or, as someone accurately changed it to, the Ordeal Bar.
