Just needed a bite to eat after being on the river all day. Food was good. Prices are what you’d expect . Very friendly environment.

Debbie and Teresa were energetic and attentive to the whole bar. They made us feel like regulars. George the bird was quite entertaining too. I didn’t eat anything but the food I saw served looked good.

2025 update!
We come to St Regis every year to enjoy time with friends, float the Clark Fork and ride Montana and Idaho backwoods. But we always have to find out who has the best Huckleberry Milkshakes in town. Everyone votes they are the best, and while I’ll concede my husband and don’t always agree on the 2nd and 3rd place winners in our book (because they are really good)… We agree once again that the clear winner is Talking Bird Saloon! They have a family friend (non boozy) version that is the perfect summer treat if you’re just swinging by to get gas and take the dog for a break and get back on the road… but if you can stay a while, I suggest you get the adult version. With natures sweet, sweet huckleberries and Montana vodka. But, the real little boost is this huckleberry liqueur that they add as well. It sends it to the top of AMAZING!
Thank You! Debbi and your staff for such amazing service!
2023:
Not all huckleberry shakes are equal! Talking Bird Saloon has the best Huck Shakes in St. Regis Montana! Why you ask? Their boozy Huck vodka, huckleberry sauce and vanilla ice cream blends into an amazing concoction that is sure to leave you asking for another, and another.

There was a smile on her face and a skip in her step. Beer was good. Food was good. It was all good. The bird was real…didn’t talk much but that’s okay…I talk too much myself. Very close to the 8 (which…by the way…was as good an experience). The Talking Bird Saloon is an easy walk back…even after two beers. More than that? Let me know.

A classic little joint that has been there for ages. Good food, great prices, be sure to say hello to the bird at the bar. He’s a talker.

Amazing service great place to stop and take a break. The prime rib was the best I have e er had aside from powder house bison prime rib, their fries amazing, and their huckleberry lemonade refreshing. I definitely recommend this stop for anyone and will be back anytime were passing through 🙂 It’s also semi truck and rv friendly!

We visited the Sunday of the flea market in St Regis. I ordered the huckleberry cream pancake ( just 1), and the 2 egg and meat breakfast. The breakfast came with choice of bread and hash browns. After my yummy pancake I opted for a to-go box for some of my breakfast as it was tummy filling. We enjoyed a couple beverages and headed out to find some treasures. After about 4 hours we returned to the saloon. The crowd was comprised of locals and the conversation was flowing. I played some Hank Williams, Hank Snow and Don Williams on the jukebox. We enjoyed a few beers, a few bourbons and some fries. We had a great time at Jaspers, relaxing and enjoying the comfortable atmosphere. Thank you for a great experience.

The food was not very good and it’s way over priced, but the service is great, and the facility is clean and nice.

This is a local watering hole. Joined to Jasper’s restaurant it seems to be a busy place. George is the talking bird.
