IDK is one of those small-town gems you’re always happy to find. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. They make you feel right at home the minute you walk in.

We visited this cafe after reading about it in the Rural Missouri magazine. We were also told about it by our neighbors. I had the fried chicken with spicy fried green beans. The chicken was fried perfectly. It was lightly coated and crispy, which didn’t take away from the chicken flavor. The chef knows how to fry chicken. All the pieces of chicken were very juicy. The fried green beans were great. I never had green beans that way before, and I was surprised how good they were. I will go back and try more items off the menu. I do recommend this place for a great meal and at a great value. This also included drinks, 1 appetizer, and dessert.

My compadres and I had lunch last Thursday. Fried chicken with choice of 3 sides for under $10! The food was fresh, delicious, and large helpings to make one of the best home-cooked meals I’ve had in a very long time. The waitress was friendly and the meal was served in a matter of minutes. Well worth the drive to check out this gem of a cafe.

This little place is right by the railroad tracks in Baring, Missouri. They actually had a tornado that went through last year and tore their little Café to pieces. This place is much bigger and nicer than the last place. Fast and friendly service with a smile.

The special has 3 main course options & several sides. It was a main course & 3 sides + tea or coffee for $9.37 (exactly $10 with sales tax included). The quality was excellent & the price was great for what it is. Baring has a blessing here.

Neat, out of the way place with a lot of charm. Be sure to get there early or be willing to share a table, lol.
We got there at noon and it was full. We shared a table with a great couple that drove there from Greentop.
Fried chicken was excellent, green beans were perfect and the portions were large.
The coleslaw tasted a little sour to me, so I didn’t eat it. The mashed potatoes were good but instant. The white gravy was delicious and had sausage in it! We will be back to try more specials!

Food was delicious! They were down a cook and wait staff. Service took a bit longer but was well worth the wait! We had the fried chicken. Comes with 3 sides and a drink for under $10. A must try!

IDK cafe has excellent food and great service. The prices are very reasonable. Their fried chicken is superb and there are so many homemade sides and desserts to choose from. IDK cafe has a wonderful small town atmosphere. It brings back memories of eating with my grandparents and dad at the ma and pa cafes in Lancaster when I was young. There is smoking permitted so my only complaint about atmosphere is when I can smell secondhand smoke from a nearby smoker. The quality cooking makes up for it though!

An excellent small restaurant I’ve enjoyed over the years, especially the tenderloin. The restaurant was hit by a tornado 5 days ago, and it appears it will be rebuilt just across the street from this original location. I look forward to the reopening!
Edit: 5-27-2024: Shannon rebuilt the restaurant in the same location. I will try to get up there soon to enjoy the tenderloin again!
