It’s Starbucks, you know, you love it or you avoid it. The place was clean, organized and the service was fine. But, it’s Starbucks, corporate and sterile. In Port Angeles, there are great home grown coffee shops like Fogtown. They have more personality, you’re helping locals and you get better coffee. Again, nothing wrong with Starbucks, go into any Starbucks in the world and it will be the same, that’s the brand. So, we all know the brand, no surprise. But, there are better local shops that are far less corporate and much more fun. Stretch a little, explore a little and maybe find something new.

We’ve been waiting a long time for an actual retail Starbucks location with a drive thru to arrive in Port Angeles! It is a brand new Starbucks with some of the latest innovative equipment the company uses and is staffed by many of the great folks we know and love from the Starbucks in Sequim. Cannot beat a retail Starbucks for quality, consistency, and atmosphere and this new location is really special with lots of space to have a meeting or visit with friends.

I ordered my two drinks, two sandwiches, and two cake pops via the mobile app. When I arrived the drinks were ready and sitting in the appropriate pick up spot, but food was not. My daughter and I grabbed our drinks and sat at a table to wait for our food. (My drink was done incorrectly, however when I went to stand in line to ask for it to be remade the only employee out there was so busy with the drivethrough she ignored me.) Finally about 15 minutes after I’d gotten there another employee came out of the back, still on the phone and being very loud about her private and inappropriate conversation. When she hung up I got in line again and she told me to wait a minute. I interrupted staying I had a mobile order 15 minutes ago and hadn’t received most of it. Both baristas told me they didn’t realize we were sitting there and got our ready food off the back counter where it had been sitting getting cold. It was never placed in the mobile order pick up area. My sandwich (supposed to be bacon egg and Gouda,) had two egg patties and no cheese or meat. (See pic) The two baristas then went into the back leaving no one up front. I instead emails customer service who gave me $12 of my $37 spent in credit. I had to throw away half my drink because of the whip I didn’t order (their whip is so greasy tasting,) and my daughter’s sandwich was ice cold. After getting home I realized we never got our cake pops either.

Typical Starbucks environment, staff is much nicer and better trained than many Starbucks in more prestigious locations. Location is not the greatest with having to cross a busy highway to enter the small parking lot. Building is shared with Chipotle in case you have a hankering for Mexican cuisine with your coffee. Another plus is that they have a drive through that is well run.

The coffee was extremely hot and didn’t even have any coffee flavor. It just felt like drinking hot milk. The folks working there were also almost waiting for us to leave from the place and were hovering around for us to leave even though there was more than 30 minutes left for closing. We asked them to refill toilet paper and they told us that there are toilets in the adjacent Chipotle. This place sucks and this only makes my feeling of Starbucks losing its quality stronger.

Don’t bother ordering inside. Go through the drive through, they will be very speedy getting you in and out. If you go inside, they have 1 person doing ALL the orders while 3-4 other stand around or clean dishes (they don’t even help when the drive through is empty). The guy who took our order was very friendly. Overall fine. just writing this to warn people not to bother coming inside, unless you are trying to waste 20 mins

Stopped here because this Starbucks had a higher rating than others nearby and we were pleasantly surprised that the experience was definitely great. Everyone is friendly, the food is great, the place is nice and clean. Highly recommend.

Cozy place with a nice vibe. The café mocha leaned a bit too much toward hot chocolate, and the Frappuccino mocha latte came with ice cubes instead of crushed ice, but overall still a pleasant spot to visit.
