First-timer. Wide array of bevs on tap. Dart board! Great tunes playing. Nice supply of quality merch. And Rhia was a stellar barkeep! She deserves a raise!! Stop in. You won’t regret it.

I am so glad I was able to visit RJP Oneonta in their 10th year. This bar was iconic when I was a student so I made a stop on my road trip from MD to Lake George.
I got 2 double vodka lemonades (cherry and peach, respectively) and also bought a tshirt. The Jug shirts are SO FUN and this is my 9th
Casey was my bartender, she was fantastic and I was one of two patrons when I went around lunch (Friday of MDW so no students). I will always make a stop when I can for RJP. Cheers to 10 years y’all!

This is a great bar for affordable drinks and if you are a regular definitely become a jug Club member. The staff is friendly and respectful and everyone always has a good time here and as a bonus they have a regular rotation of awesome bar shirts that are only 15 bucks or you can get it free if you are willing to take a few months off of your liver’s life. Daytime nice chill type bar with an all-ages crowd, after 9:00 it’s definitely a college Hotspot.

Red Jug Pub – stopped in after dinner (before the crowds) and it was a really nice experience. Our server was super nice and made great drinks. Easy parking across the street! Highly recommend.

UPDATE: Reducing to 1 Star from 2. Visited again on a Saturday around 3:30pm. Bar was not packed with college students at the time since it was so early, so we assumed we’d be able to get some drinks. You know what they say about assumptions. We sat at the bar for at least 10 minutes before a bartender even acknowledged our presence. Once they did, we stated we wanted to do a tasting/challenge. Filled out the sheet, and were ready in less than a minute. Our bartender served a multitude of others at a snails pace while we sat waiting and waiting and waiting… After about 30 minutes with no drink, we gave up and left. Went to the Black Oak and were immediately acknowledged, welcomed and served.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: They skip your music when you pay $3 per song to fast pass it. Also if you aren’t early and get a seat at the bar, prepare for long wait times for drinks. Finally found a space at the bar to get a drink and waited 7-10 mins before I was served. If you’re young, like to party, and are looking for a crowded bar, this is the spot. If you’re just looking to relax, have a good time, and have a couple drinks, look elsewhere.

It was horrible service. I went out with my husband and friend. I watched as they were ignored and the female bartender only paid attention to 4 females and never once looked up to acknowledge any other person. There were at least 5 to six at the counter with helpers, and yet most were fixed on helping those who already had a drink in hand.
Finally a gap was about to appear and untold my friend to get ready to take it. He did and still was ignored until he said hey, when your done with them I would like to order. She took his order and left him in the middle of his order. It took forever for him to get his drinks, and as soon as a new younger female came, they were taken care of quickly and assertively.
It seemed the focus that night were for certain age females. I guess service during the summer is better during the fall. The atmosphere was more pleasant and diverse.

Go for happy hour. Great tap selection, strong mixed drinks, great prices and a special every day make this a good spot to get a drink and people watch. It picks up and gets much louder/more crowded in the evening. Enjoy your beverage and get out by 8 unless you’re under 25 or already tipsy enough that the college crowd doesn’t bother you.

Super fun, energetic, and somewhat youthful atmosphere. Great jukebox system, dart boards, lots of coat hangers, friendly tenders, great draft selection that even includes flavored ciders. Go on a Thursday for cheap drafts. Attracts the college crowd, you won’t find too many townies. They throw great holiday-themed parties.

Celebrating St. Patrick’s day with my friends. Horrible service, she gave one of our friends her drink, and it took her 20 minutes to give the remaining 2 people in our party our drinks. They didn’t have pretty basic liquors, it was hard to get a simple 2 ingredient drink. They had one bartender working on one of the most busiest days of the year. She was all over the place, and could not make a drink. Very disappointed.

I usually throughly enjoy going to the red Jug, but my experience today made me never want to return. Firstly, the bar tender was extremely rude and had an attitude the second we walked into the bar. Secondly, we all order a round of green tea shots and let me tell you it was probably one of the worst green tea shots I’ve had in my entire life.
