Ive had a few decent experiences at this location but it seems that the bad is outweighing the good at this point. I wish I knew the names if the employees because it’s the same man that continuously chooses not to add cheese and mayo to my bagel. Today will be my last day at this location after an inedible sandwich with slime on it and once again no cheddar or mayo.

This review is long overdue, we have gone to this location for years and years. We always give them another chance. This was the last straw. They have consistently made mistakes on almost every order, but never to the extent that I wrote a review or did anything about it. This time based on their promotion to use their app for speed of service we ordered a very simple order 4 sandwiches all of which were exactly the same. We were told they would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. It took over an hour and 30 minutes to receive the order. They serviced dozens of customers in front of our order while we sat there and waited. They are understaffed, under trained, and oblivious to Customer Service. The dining room has never been put back in place since Covid. It’s an absolute abomination and they should sell that store or bring in new ownership.

I hadn’t visited this location or the 55th and Shawnee Mission Parkway in Fairway in 4-5 years now for various reasons, but decided to stop by on my way to work today and things have definitely stayed par for the course. They are so busy fulfilling catering orders that they can only serve the walk-in customers at their own convenience and it could take over a half hour to get a sandwich and a coffee even if you’re the only person physically in the restaurant.

Love Einstein’s! But unfortunately had a bad experience recently, when I walked through the door there was a worker sitting in the booth, I patiently waited at the counter for a few minutes to order when they get out of the booth and come and take my order and immediately it was what can I get you with attitude like I interrupted their break. I get having a bad day but taking it out on the customers is not the move.

Usually my go to Einstein’s but not after today. There are two girls in the afternoon who look like they just rolled out of bed making the food and this is what I got… I asked the lovely cashier if we could possibly switch bagel while still placing the remainder of my order and apparently they were already preparing it. When she turned back to let the unprofessional girl know she gave us the dirtiest annoyed look. I said it was ok, I’d try the jalapeño one. After opening my sandwich, I noticed the whole top was charred. Anyone with common sense would not have packed that. I tried to work around it but it was literally crisping in the table. I asked her to remake it and got another dirty look and seen her do it with the worst attitude in front of me. Will not be returning.

I’m sure this is on corporate and not this specific location (although, every time I go I expect to stand and wait for two bagels for at least half an hour) but when did they start making the Lox sandiwch style?? It used to be my favorite lox (in the box, open face, both sides dressed with toppings) and now they have legitimately cut the ingredients in HALF while still advertising the same lox. Family was extremely disappointed to see that the same lox bagels we’ve been getting our whole lives have changed for the worst. What a shame.
