On June 18, 2025, I ate at La Casa De Birria (#2) for the first time. I went for lunch with colleagues as part of a birthday celebration. You order at the counter, select your salsas at a designated salsa bar, and then choose your own seat—a perfect lunch formula in my opinion! When I went to order, I chose from the chalkboard that displayed a few different specials and chose the crema enchiladas. I found my food to be completely adequate….nothing that blew me out of the water but it tasted just fine. Chips are complimentary which is a nice touch. If I had one suggestion for this place it would be this: introduce a lunch menu. As I have already alluded to a couple times in this short review, this place is conducive to a lunch crowd so it seems to make sense that a lunch menu would be offered. Although the food is pretty good, without the lunch menu, I do find the prices a little high. I do think lunch options offered at slightly lower prices and smaller portions would be a big hit.

Update: 9/2/25. While not the same outfit that opened the place a few years ago, this family is doing a better job. There are far more options for proteins than before, and they can make anything on their vast menu with all of the above. Be advised any request for meat options that are not Birria or Pollo are going to be met with an up-charge. Wifey loves her Posole’ meals, and here is yet another place in our small town to find it on a daily basis. We only saw the Manager fella, who was running the whole FOH, and he took great care of us. There are four reasons why the only restos I hit in my hometown are all Mex joints. Arturo’s; El Rodeo; Gerardo’s; and, now these guys. You all get the picture, I’m sure…
Did we need a 4th Mex joint here in Cheney? Why not? We actually had 5 at one time in the late 2000s. What’s made the 3 who’ve survived make it? They’re all different styles. One’s a gringo grandma joint; another is San Diego style Mex; and the other one is like a grill you’d find in a coastal seaport town in Mexico. All different, and we love them. This joint actually fits another category, and I do believe they will stick, with their emphasis on Birria, mostly served as beef–and not goat–in the US. Everything we had was great! And quell your sticker shock, because your order will be another meal and a half. No joke. But our leftovers didn’t last even 15 mins after we got home, with family who didn’t go.. Staff was friendly and busy, with a very nice young lady at the register, who was helping the whole FOH/BOH more than she knows. Great first impression at this place for us, and we live in this wheat, cow, and university town…

The food was wonderfullll! We got quesabirria meal and enchiladas with red sauce! The avocado on the top tasted sooooo fresh. And churros! The churros were so good but when she said with ice cream I definitely didn’t expect bubblegum flavored. Wasn’t a big fan and I was kinda sad but ate the churros!! There was sooo much food! Wasn’t just a few dinky tacos. It was two meals on one plate. I’ll definitely be back. The customer service was wonderful too!! They were fast and so helpful!!! The food had so much wonderful flavor!! I took my consome home and put it in some ramen and omg it was soooo good. Didn’t need no extra flavor. Definitely cured the craving. 5 star food and service. The lady up front was so sweet!! My only thing was it was reallly hot. It felt like there was no ac. There’s so many windows the sun shining in probably makes it really hot. But definitely doesn’t change my mind about my experience!

Food was good, but I won’t be back after seeing their anti-American sticker on the front door. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised in a college town.

Excellent authentic-tasting birria. The rice and beans are excellent too. I love that the food is not covered in cheese!

This is heaven!!!!! Everything was fresh and hot, and sooooooo delicious! And the portion sizes are huge! 2 of us could have absolutely split one order and been very full. They have real fruit juices and the Mano one was yummy!! I got chunks of mango in mine We got the quesabirria, definitely recommended, especially with some fresh squeezed lime provided! The mangoleda is so refreshing and flavorful. We will absolutely be back here, often!!!

Incredible food. Authentic posole, and birria cheese tacos are so delicious and bigger than I had planned. But I manned up and ate it all. Great place. Parking sucks, but expected for an authentic birria taco place.
