Fantastic evening with the family. Service was great, lovely waiters, water was refilled often, and the complimentary bread was DELICIOUS!!. Food came quickly, portions were reasonable but the food was incredible — I ordered the Goats Cheese Salad, Duck Breast, and Mixed Berry Sorbet. Lovely warm atmosphere, we sat upstairs.

Lovely hidden gem located on a busy street. Incredible service from attentive staff, mouthwatering menu options, decor that transports you out of Dublin. It’s a small bar, so the atmosphere can quickly become overwhelming if there is a large group and the room quickly becomes crowded.

delicious, reasonably priced prix fixe. Also the only place of its kind serving food at 9 pm on a Wednesday in February in the area.

I don’t normally review things but this place made me feel inspired to do so. We were walking around Dublin starving and kitchens were closing left and right. When we got here the kitchen had unfortunately just closed but they were very accommodating and offered us a great spread of artisan cheeses and fruit with bread, crackers, pate and more. We also enjoyed a very delectable homemade dessert. The wine was out of this world.

The highlight of the visit was the staff. As soon as we walked in they treated us like family. Long and Liva were excellent to talk to and they were very friendly as well as knowledgeable about the wine and food on the menu. Will come back next time I am in Dublin.

This is a good restaurant and has authentic french food. Service was nice and good food. Only concern vegetarian options were extremely limited and only 1 dish in main course. For vegetarian people there were only 2 starters and 1 main dish. Also tables are very close to each other so low privacy.

Lovely food! Group of 7. Some of us had the steak and we said we should have ordered a few servings of chips to share. Desserts didn’t appeal to me but everyone else seemed happy with them. I had tiramishu which came in a glass. Small area but food was great and service was professional and friendly. We will be back.

I’ve had an amazing dinner last night at La Cave Restaurant

Every dish was delicious and we’ve tried a red and a dessert wine with both being very tasty.

Atmosphere and ambience it’s very relaxing and staff are very attentive.

I just want to clarify and apologise at the same time that when I’ve got the bill which was 149 euro ,being a bit tired after a long day ,I thoght I have seen 139 and I wanted to round it to 150 as a tip.

Only later on the way home I realised that it was actually 149 not 139 like I thought I have seen so basically I only gave few cents tip and I just want to let the staff know it was not intentional nor disrespectful in any way and I apologise if the staff lady got it that way

I will definitely come back to this restaurant and leave a bigger tip next time

According to our new friend Margaret, who we met in Cork, we chose a great hidden gem for our last meal in Dublin. She was not wrong. At first when you walk in and then down the stairs to this tiny place, packed with people, it can be a little bit concerning. However, we were quickly acknowledged and seated. A booking is recommended. They pack the tables in, so be prepared to become best friends with the people around you, just as we did. We selected a Margaux from their exceptional wine list, and Oysters and a Prawn cocktail to start. For our mains we had Duck a l’orange and the filet of beef. We finished our meal with the cheese plate. Every course was excellent. This classic French bistro did not disappoint. Highly recommend.
