Valet was quick and affordable, we were seated fast, and the space is super cute with an upstairs area for private groups. There was a DJ (Fridays have live music), and the volume was perfect for actually talking. Then a belly-dancing fire show popped off and we were like… okay dinner AND entertainment?!
Drinks were amazing, my margarita came with a whole flame moment. Very main character energy.
Now the food… BABY. As a picky eater, I usually pick through my plate. Not here. Shrimp and ribeye sliders? Gone. Steak and seabass? Incredible. And the matcha cheesecake? I hate cheesecake AND matcha and almost licked the plate. Growth.
Ambiance ✔️ Music ✔️ Service ✔️ Food ✔️
This place is a YES. We’ll be back. ️✨
They were supposed to have a band but didn’t; they had DJs & the music choices were kind of all over the place, but got a little better towards the end of our time there.
Some interesting things about it: You can make reservations on OpenTable, but you get a two-hour seating limit. And if you want to stay for the “party”, then you have to pay $20 to remain. They also started taking away the barstools at a certain part of the night so that people didn’t have anywhere to stand if they didn’t already have a section reserved. There was free valet parking. It was interesting I’m not sure it’s somewhere I will return.
The pictures I posted honestly don’t do the place any justice. You have to go to see the beauty for yourself. The entire design, feel, and mood of the restaurant gives grown and sexy.
We met our server, Noel, who has previous experience in fine dining and we could tell. He was very attentive even after other guests started to arrive. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and told us some of his top picks, which we ordered. He advised us that it is mainly a restaurant throughout the week, but it turns into a lounge after 10 pm. Also, hookah is only served on the weekends after 10 pm as well. That’s a good thing for those who just want to eat without being made to injest hookah smoke at the same time.
The crafted cocktails were exquisite and the cute little hearts in the Japanese whiskey sour was a beautiful little touch.
Our appetizers, Fried Chicken Wonton Dumplings and Crab Rangoon was so good. They were cooked to perfection. The cream cheese inside the crab rangoon was so creamy and not as stiff as normal cream cheese would be.
Our Spider Roll was good! The pieces were double the size of a normal sushi roll. So I could see someone ordering it a la carte with a side of fried rice. (Which was also mouth watering.)
The only downside was one of the entrees. My wife ordered the salmon. I do not recommend this dish to anyone who does not like spicy food. She enjoyed everything else up until this point. There should be a spice level indicator for this dish. No, it’s not a sweet and spicy dish, just spicy.
I on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed my scallop pasta. As you can see in the picture, the scallops were jumbo size and filling.
We finished with sharing some Tempura Ice Cream. It wasn’t like regular fried ice cream. It was enclosed is fried dough, a layer of yellow cake, and the ice cream in the middle. Of course it was topped off with whipped cream and a cherry.
Overall from experience, to food, drinks, ambiance, and service, we both gave it a 10 out of 10 will recommend!
We’ll definitely be back to the Avenue Kitchen & Cocktail restaurant to experience it during its lounge hours.
