Continental cuisine, for the modern diner.
Le B. is a celebratory, lively, supper-club setting that is rooted in the culture of Downtown Manhattan. Staying true to form, Chef Angie Mar’s menu ethos mines history for forgotten pleasures, with a focus on meats, game and the sea. Tableside presentations and over the top excess have always been hallmarks of Mar’s style.
Her award winning team’s overwhelming hospitality coupled with the essence of her cult favorite restaurant, The Beatrice Inn, are carried through in this next iteration of downtown dining, with a sophisticated and playful point of view.

We took a client & his family to this beautiful jewel box of a restaurant in December – it was an amazing experience. Of course all the food was delicious and beautifully prepared – so many courses – each dish amazing. But I have to say- more than the food, I thought the service stood out. Even the process of making the reservation was a pleasure- Katrina was so professional and kind. The servers were all at the top of their game (not easy to be graceful while squeezing in between tables). And after dinner, the chef invited us to tour the kitchen and she chatted w/ our guests- these are the things that made the dinner stand out for us, this is the type of personal treatment that is hard to find in a NYC restaurant, even a pricey one.

The atmosphere was very nice and intimate. Refined but relaxed. The service was fantastic. The food was superb. The garlic soup was excellent and the pastry was flaky and buttery. Le Burger was the absolute epitome of umami. The blend of beef and french cheeses was out of this world!

The food was good, but the portions were pretty small. The burger was solid though I wouldn’t say it was worth the money. The appetizer was interesting, and both the lamb and salmon were so good. I especially loved how they split the dish into two servings. And the dessert was amazing, super rich and chocolatey. They also had $4 per person for dining fee if you don’t sit in a bar and it reminded me of dining in Paris lol

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here last night and everything was excellent. I should say, beyond excellent. Yes, it is a really pricey restaurant, even for NYC, even for a fine-dining spot. But every bite we ate was truly memorable (and this is coming from foodies who’ve dined all over the world), and service was attentive, polite and old-school. We were skeptical after reading some reviews but we were treated with utmost courtesy. They even went above and beyond for certain things. I was unhappy with our initial table and they changed it, with a smile. Even though we didn’t order dessert, the chef sent out something amazing in celebration of our special day, on the house. The sommelier guided us towards a most delicious bottle of red, and the burger was impeccable. We ordered a la carte and found the portions to be perfectly sized. I’m sure they are much smaller for the tasting menu, but why would you want big portions for a 6+ course meal? Bonus points for their lovely china. All around outstanding. Thanks, Le B!

Food was amazing and the staff were so nice but the wait time was a lot. I try to never complain but the dinner for two courses and dessert, took over 3 hours and we waited for the majority of it. Either way, incredible food and amazing atmosphere. If you go, you have to get the seafood Wellington, it was INCREDIBLE.

Exquisite experience. A beautiful jewel box of a restaurant in the heart of the West Village. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were treated like very special guests. Food execution and presentation is at the highest level yet still feels soulful & personal. The tasting menu is the best way to journey through Chef Mar’s talents. Service staff was warm & professional. A destination.

So far my best restaurant in New York.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Their attention to detail and service was world class. Loved their decor, atmosphere and most importantly the food. The chef sent out complimentary hors d’oeuvres- the Onion Nancy with pommes soufflé because the wait for my order would take a while due to how I wanted it cooked. It was incredible. Light and fluffy and a great pairing with the crisps. I continued with the lamb chops. I can’t even describe how tasty that dish was. So well cooked with a delicious sauce.
I was actually there for the burger and let me tell you, there’s no better burger in New York. Scrumptious. No other words can describe it. I’m not sure why it isn’t more raved about than the likes of 4 Charles.
I finished with the crepes Suzette which was wonderfully prepared table side. Listen, if you’re thinking about dining here, DO IT. You’ll have no regrets. 10/10. Actually cannot wait to go back.

Cannot say enough about how much we loved this dining experience and Le B. in general. We sat at the bar to get two of the nine burgers for the night and Ernesto, the bartender, took amazing care of us. Truly one of the better dining experiences we’ve had. Every single thing he recommended was absolutely outstanding, not to mention this was the best burger we’ve ever had. He also made us phenomenal espresso martinis to end the night! The table side crepes were also to die for. Truly every single thing about the experience was amazing. If you’re in New York and are looking for a unique and different dining experience you MUST check out Le B.

This was a great place to try for restaurant week! Had a wonderful dinner ($60pp) which included the Japanese pumpkin ravioli, pithivier, and soufflé for dessert. Service was great and very intimate, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!
