I started with the antipasti, which was a good portion for one person, though it could have benefited from an extra slice of bread and a little more cheese (only two small slices were included). For the main, I ordered the rack of lamb special. I was told it would be served pink, but unfortunately it arrived well done. There were also no staff around for about 20 minutes to mention it. That said, the sauce was excellent and the rest of the dish was enjoyable, overall about a 6.5/10.
The total came to £138 plus tip for two starters, one beer, and three mains. For prices similar to The George, we left feeling slightly underwhelmed, though the experience still had some positives.
After a long afternoon at Rutland water and not particularly attired for an evening meal in a restaurant, we chanced upon this hidden gem and sought a table.
We arrived at 6.10pm and we were seated immediately. We decided to try a cocktail each (Daiquiri and Limoncello Spritz) but they don’t quite have their cocktail making skills perfected yet and both were pretty awful.
The food arrived quickly and the service was good, so that made up for this minor issue.
My better half had the Sea Bass and I opted for the chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce. We then capped the evening off with a Crème brûlée and a Profiteroles desserts.
The food was outstanding and quickly delivered, however, we were the first customers in and there were only 6 additional customers by the time we left.
Between the two of us we spent £90, which I thought was reasonable.
i would reccomend this resturant and I probably would come back again as par from the plastic, the food was nice and this was a honest mistake and were all human, and i doubt they give people plastic!
however for future reference as a nice guesture for the slip up they could honour more than taking off the 1 meal with plastic.- as this was fully the fault of the resturant and taking of the meal was just standard, there was no going above and beyond.
Sat upstairs, chilled vibe, easy to chat. Staff always popped up to check on us. Authentic Italian menu and quality food.
Not cheap but felt it was worth it, would come back.
