We enjoyed dinner here on Friday, 10/10 to the staff who were friendly, welcoming and attentive. We enjoyed swordfish special and monkfish mains with coffees. We would have stayed for dessert but there was a very loud table of 4 behind us, completely oblivious of how they were affecting several tables. The menu is fairly limited on the fish front but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, freshly cooked and great flavour. Nice interior and very popular with the locals so do reserve a table!

The food is really good and the portions very perfect if not over sized. Definitely worth a visit if you want to find little Italy in Stamford

We visited midweek to find that the restaurant was very busy. We had called ahead to reserve a table and it was in fact the last one available at the time. The service was a little slow. It took 15 minutes for anybody to come and ask what we wanted to drink. We shared an appetizer, which was quite nice. We both ordered a pasta dish, which were good, but not exceptional. The main dishes arrived about 45 minutes after we arrived. It did feel a little chaotic. The wait staff seemed to be running with all the orders and dishes. I’m not sure why because there was not that many people coming and going. It was quite noisy. With some tables being extremely noisy.

First time visiting Amore. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were pleasant and welcoming.

I started with the antipasti, which was a good portion for one person, though it could have benefited from an extra slice of bread and a little more cheese (only two small slices were included). For the main, I ordered the rack of lamb special. I was told it would be served pink, but unfortunately it arrived well done. There were also no staff around for about 20 minutes to mention it. That said, the sauce was excellent and the rest of the dish was enjoyable, overall about a 6.5/10.

The total came to £138 plus tip for two starters, one beer, and three mains. For prices similar to The George, we left feeling slightly underwhelmed, though the experience still had some positives.

Situated down a cute little side street, Amore was a quaint little Italian restaurant that has a surprisingly modern menu.

After a long afternoon at Rutland water and not particularly attired for an evening meal in a restaurant, we chanced upon this hidden gem and sought a table.

We arrived at 6.10pm and we were seated immediately. We decided to try a cocktail each (Daiquiri and Limoncello Spritz) but they don’t quite have their cocktail making skills perfected yet and both were pretty awful.

The food arrived quickly and the service was good, so that made up for this minor issue.

My better half had the Sea Bass and I opted for the chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce. We then capped the evening off with a Crème brûlée and a Profiteroles desserts.

The food was outstanding and quickly delivered, however, we were the first customers in and there were only 6 additional customers by the time we left.

Between the two of us we spent £90, which I thought was reasonable.

We’ve been there a few times now, usually during the week. This time we went on a really busy Friday night, but the service was still great and super quick. The food was amazing, the chicken with tomato sauce was to die for, and my partner’s steak was cooked perfectly.

I was dining with friends this last week, I ordered the chicken with parma ham and cheese with a sauce. I also ordered roast potatos and a lemonade. I was eating my meal, when i came across a sheet of plastic inbetween the ham and cheese. They took off the charge of my chicken, and apoligised and asked if i was okay 3 times, however I feel as though everything i had should have been on the house because i had eaten parts of plastic and thats not correct standards and we had to pay a service charge.
i would reccomend this resturant and I probably would come back again as par from the plastic, the food was nice and this was a honest mistake and were all human, and i doubt they give people plastic!
however for future reference as a nice guesture for the slip up they could honour more than taking off the 1 meal with plastic.- as this was fully the fault of the resturant and taking of the meal was just standard, there was no going above and beyond.

First time eating there and it won’t be my last! Gorgeous authentic restaurant with friendly staff. Glass of a Franciacorta sparkling wine was a delicious way to start the meal. Had prawns & monkfish gnocchi. Stunning presentation. Perfect!

Lovely meal for two, relaxing atmosphere, attentive staff and enjoyed the food.

Sat upstairs, chilled vibe, easy to chat. Staff always popped up to check on us. Authentic Italian menu and quality food.

Not cheap but felt it was worth it, would come back.
