Bad Biscuit is full of little tidbits of our life and what we love in life. It’s all over the walls, in the decor and on the menu. Funky and fun is a common description of our place and thats the only way I want to be! I’ve lived on the island for 46 years and have been the chef of our other restaurant, A Lowcountry Backyard Restaurant for the last 10 years. Why Bad Biscuit? Because I LOVE them, all day breakfast options and why not? And our biscuits are Bad To The Bone! We are here every day, serving fresh baked biscuits because any type of creamy sauce, crispy bacon, marinated shrimp or just some moonshine jelly is even better on a biscuit. This restaurant is all about what we love. Be a little Bad, a little rebellious, have some fun!
Biscuits & brunch bowls, plus other Southern plates, served in a laid-back nook with eclectic decor.

The food, however, was lacking. I got the Fries Green Tomato Biscuit and while it looks impressive, it lacked flavor. Not sure how that is possible since it had the fried green tomato, pimiento cheese, egg, and bacon gravy. The biscuits were ok but I didn’t love the texture.
The cinnamon roll special that my daughter ordered was pretty good, even though I still didn’t love the biscuit texture.
I’d try it again and maybe something else would be tastier.
For our first visit, we kept it classic. My wife ordered the Rooster Biscuits N Gravy (biscuit, sausage gravy, and egg), while I opted for the Gravy Train (biscuit with samples of their four gravies: pimento cheese, mushroom, bacon, and sage & sausage). We both agreed the sage & sausage gravy was our favorite, though mushroom or cheese lovers might enjoy the other options.
The food was excellent. The biscuits were tall, flaky, and had the perfect Southern biscuit taste. The sage & sausage gravy complemented the biscuit perfectly. I can easily imagine this being a great spot for coffee and biscuits and gravy in the morning. Bad Biscuit might just have the best biscuits on the island.
The restaurant is comfortable and unpretentious, with an eclectic and charming decor. Pictures cover one wall, a flying angel hangs from the ceiling, an electric guitar is displayed in a plexiglass case, and a PacMan game sits in the corner. This diverse collection of decor surprisingly works well together. The person who took our order and served us was very friendly, and the customer-only bathroom was clean.
While I chose a basic order for my first visit, I was very pleased with the experience at Bad Biscuit. If you’re a fan of biscuits and biscuit-related dishes, I highly recommend giving it a try!
