We’ve been to Hazel’s a few times now, and every visit has been… very quiet. Usually it’s just us and maybe one other table. It’s felt a little odd each time.
That said, I’m still giving five stars because there is a lot to like here.
Cocktails: 7–8/10
Food: 8/10
Atmosphere: 3/10
The food is solid, and the garlic in the shrimp scampi deserves a special mention—they definitely measure garlic with their heart, and I fully support that. Raw oysters are also a big plus for me.
The location, decor, and overall layout are genuinely cool, and you can tell this place could have great vibes. Unfortunately, the emptiness really impacts the atmosphere. A space like this feels like it’s meant to be buzzing, and without that energy it falls a bit flat.
I’ve also had the same waitress each time. She’s friendly, but with so few customers she tends to linger at the table longer than usual, which can feel a little awkward. Honestly, it seems like a side effect of the place just not being busy enough.
Hazel’s has a lot of potential, and I really do want it to succeed. It’s a cool spot with good food—I just hope it finds its crowd, because it deserves one.

Folks! Get yourselves down here!! This is the only place I’m aware of anywhere in 10+ miles to have a truly elevated dinner experience. The food isn’t just good or delicious, it’s unforgettable. I don’t feel that way often… We opted for the app, entree and dessert meals (great value) and the creme brulee is in a class of it’s own. Please, for the sake of keeping such a classy and cozy restaurant here in town, please go try this place out ASAP.

A great place to go for some wine tasting and delicious food. Wine tastings are free on Wednesdays so I was able to enjoy a few of their different wines from local vineyards. Their artichoke and spinach dip is also amazing and pairs very well with the variety of wines they offer. Staff is very kind and service was great. Will be returning many more times during my stay in Monmouth ☺️

Hazels is wonderful! The chicken piccata was so flavorful, clearly their chef is passionate about food. Had strawberry shortcake for dessert and I’ve never had strawberries that good! Server was super nice and attentive!

If you are considering a trip to the Willamette Valley wine region of Oregon, please consider John of Crush Wine Tours as your guide! We were so happy to be on his Deluxe Party Bus for 2 days, touring all of the best spots in the valley. There were nine of us and we were very comfortable, room for more!

We enjoyed a fantastic selection of wines appetizers and entrees at an outdoor table with its own gas fire in the middle. Stacey our server knows her wines! The quality of her service was outstanding. We ordered the filet mignon and the scampi risotto. Both were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We chatted with the owner John who’s done an amazing job with this restaurant. We’ve traveled all over the world and consider ourselves fortunate to have a restaurant of this caliber so close to home!

I came here for the first time with couple of family members and we all had a Wonderful experience at this place. Owner seems really nice and welcoming. Good good and cocktails, try their whiskey sour with eggnog .
