Fresh, beautifully presented sushi with great variety.

We ordered a mix of rolls and appetizers, and everything was consistently good. The rolls were well-balanced—not overly sauced—and the fish tasted fresh. The spicy tuna poke had a nice kick without overpowering the flavor of the fish, and the blistered shishito peppers were a perfect starter.

Presentation was thoughtful and elegant, especially the specialty rolls and nigiri. You can tell care went into both the food and plating. Service was attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed but polished…great for a casual dinner or a special night out.

Would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

We ordered the mentaiko oil pasta, mentaiko cream udon, seared salmon nigiri, and both albacore and salmon ceviche — and every single dish was a knockout. The presentation? Absolute art. Each plate looked like it belonged in a high-end Tokyo omakase, not just a casual spot in Oregon.

You could tell the chef puts real care and intention into everything — from flavor balance to plating. We all agreed this might honestly be the best Japanese chef in the state. The flavors were bold but delicate, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh.

On top of that, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. It felt like the kind of place you want to gatekeep but also tell all your friends about. Seriously, if you’re in Oregon and you don’t check this place out… you’re doing life wrong.

Food was excellent and very fresh. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Service was okay — not bad, but there’s definitely room for improvement. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would come back for the food!

WOW this is amazing sushi. Coming from someone who’s born and raised in Hawaii this made me so happy. Lovely and kind staff. Highly recommend. The seared salmon nigiri was the most buttery melt in your mouth big thick cut. And the creamy udon was delicious. Will be back for sure

We both enjoyed the bento box lunch special. Fresh & delicious with a nice presentation. A very satisfying meal with a good variety of food & leftovers for another meal! Relaxing atmosphere with a polite server. We were impressed on our first visit here!

Very kind and accommodating for my Gluten free needs. Even brought me my own GF soy sauce pot. Beautiful presentation of food and very good food and fresh fish. For GF I did the special on the board of K-skewers chicken no sauce, a veggie roll that they left one thing off that wasn’t GF, and a Hawaiian roll. Hubby got a couple other rolls that were great. The wasabi has a pretty good kick to it LOL the ginger is really good.

The rolls and sake selection are nothing short of exemplary…chicken gyoza and Kobe appetizer was good but not spectacular, Sashimi B (especially the o-toro) was incredibly fresh but might be better served with a mild sweet acid glaze, and they forgot the miso soup. Service was fast, house made pickles delicious. Best value of the meal was the spicy tuna on crispy rice for $13, could have done a triple order of this. Looking forward to trying other roll options.

*Food:
1. Agedashi Tofu & Kirimochi
– Light batter on tofu and kirimochi, but enough to soak up the tempura sauce.
– Kirimochi and tofu were both soft and chewy with a crispy exterior.
– 10/10

2. Lobster Kara Age
– Just what you would expect from Kara Age, crispy and juicy. Not too oily, not too much batter.
– Yuzu mayo covers the oiliness of the fried lobster. Citrus sauce is not overwhelming.
– 10/10

3. Sushi & Sashimi Combo (Sushi)
– Excellent quality sashimi grade fish. No fishy aftertaste, rice was not overly sweet or salty and not overcooked. Fish slice size was larger and thicker compared to other restaurants.
– 10/10

4. Sushi & Sashimi Combo (Sashimi)
– Excellent quality sashimi grade fish. Hamachi was extra fatty and had amazing texture. Akami was not fishy at all, texture was great.
– White fish on the side with yuzu sauce was a little fishy. Could improve, but overall an amazing dish with thick cut sashimi. Definitely satisfied expectations.
– 8.5/10

5. Otoro Tuna Sashimi
– Market price; reasonable price for the thick cut and quality.
– Melts in your mouth, no fishy aftertaste.
– Ordered after checking the fish quality from the sushi & sashimi combo. I had high expectations and the expectations were met. Great slices of fish.
10/10

*Service:
– Reservation was 6:30pm, but due to traffic, I arrived 15 minutes late. I had called in beforehand, which they kindly let us in despite the delay. Once seated and ordered at 7:00pm, pre-dinner sides, miso soup, and water were provided. Appetizers came out 10 minutes later, sashimi and sushi came out 10 minutes after the appetizers. Despite full seating, food came out fast, and of course with excellent plating and quality. Servers came around frequently to check on any needs. Overall, friendly servers, food quality is great.

* Atmosphere:
– Overall very much satisfied. For the price of the items, quality and quantity was assured and tasted great. Restaurant was clean and quiet despite the full seating. Again, friendly servers and excellent food quality as well as fast serving time. Portland never really had great sushi/sashimi, but I definitely recommend coming here at least once, as the items I have ordered tasted great. Many liquor choices(wine, beer, sake, cocktails, etc.) and good choice of desserts as well. Would recommend if you dislike fish due to its fishiness since the sashimi and sushi here have no unpleasant aftertaste.
