Really fun spot to try some local fare. The burgers were good (not great, but good…) and the beer selection was excellent. The owner really needs to add some staff because – as was mentioned in some other reviews – the wait for food/service can be very long. We followed some other reviewer’s suggestions and ordered inside instead of waiting for table service, and even then we waited 45+ minutes for our burgers. That said, happy to support a local establishment and it was great to sample some elk and bison.

Had the Hayden Bison burger, it’s awesome! Good beer selection, got the Cold Smoke . Nice big selection of packaged local meats. I’ll be back to stock the freezer! Waffle fries would be better if local grown hand cut, but that’s my only critique.

We ate at Legacy Butcher and Burger Company twice during our stay in Cody, and every meal we had was delicious! I upgraded to the onion rings.

A helpful tip: order your food at the counter and pay right away. We noticed several tables waiting quite a while (30 minutes and more) for a server just to get menus, place their orders, or even receive water and napkins. Ordering at the counter made the experience much smoother and faster.

Also, if you can, try to avoid peak hours, especially between 6:00 and 7:30 PM, as the place gets quite busy and wait times can increase.

Overall, highly recommended for anyone looking for a great burger and a casual, satisfying meal in Cody!

The food was excellent and the service was great. We say outside I took one star of because of the guys smoking on the patio…. Some of us don’t need cigarette smoke in our burgers

Stopped here for dinner while on my cross country road trip. You are going to want to get a bison burger and get their fried cheese curds. The bison meat pairs so well with the bacon and the cheese curds were the best I ever had. Made my stop before Yellow Stone memorable.

This has to be the best burger we’ve ever had…anywhere! The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food quality is off the charts. If you’re anywhere near Cody, make sure to stop here! We will definitely be back anytime we are nearby.

Not sure if I had a one off bad experience, but I ordered the elk burger and it was cooked rare. I informed the hostess and she told me that all of their elk is cooked rare to medium rare due to quality reasons. I like pink in my burgers but this was way rarer than I would normally expect

Ate dinner here on my first night in Cody. The service was great, and my waitress was very attentive and helpful with suggestions. There was a minor mishap with my bison ribeye that was rectified almost immediately and to my satisfaction. The dinner included a salad, sides and desert. I had to pass on desert because I was stuffed afterwards.

My wife and I stopped in for Dinner while in Cody. We were seated quickly but service overall was slow because it was a busy Friday Night. We got two different Bison Burgers and both were delicious and worth the wait. The overall venue is interesting being both a butcher shop and restaurant. We would recommend and go back if in the area.

Food was okay, but the service and employees were excellent. We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the shade it provided. Avoid the onion rings and the spicy chicken sandwich. Other than that, I would go back.
