We stopped by here to have a quick lunch before heading to MSG. It was inside The Knickerbocker Hotel and not easy to find with all the scaffolding around the main entrance.
We arrived around 2pm and were seated at a small table (for two) even though there were very few customers around.
Its lunch menu was almost completely different from what was on their web site and had limited choices. We ordered a few appetizers to share. We liked the Pork belly, crispy and not too fatty. Fried artichokes were average. The Fried chicken looked very dark and over-fried. But it turned out to be the best dish of all, flavorful, tender, with crispy skin. The three small pieces cost as much as a full bucket of KFC. But it was worth it. It was so good that we had another order.

Had lunch here during this years restaurant week and I am SO glad I did. The staff was both fast and friendly. The food was delicious as well. My favorite was the squid in ink sauce – it was perfection

Rare find! Beautiful decor, quaint, quiet, not crazy busy and has great food/coffee! Staff is nice, well priced, good amount of nice seating with cushy sofa chairs as well! There are pastries as well as an array of breakfast drinks. One of a kind in a place like time square! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This hotel-based cafe located at the “The Knickerboard Hotel” is Times Square’s best kept secret, loaded with timeless history dating back to the titanic. John Jacob Astor IV was an American business magnate, real estate developer, investor, writer, lieutenant colonel in the Spanish-American War, and a prominent member of the Astor family. He died in the sinking of the RMS Titanic during the early hours of April 15, 1912. Astor was the richest passenger aboard the RMS Titanic and was thought to be among the richest people in the world at the time. Here at Jack’s at The Knick, John Jacob Astor IV and his son John Jacob Astor VI, also known as Jakey (born four months after his father’s death) can be seen portrayed on the shelves of the cafe.
What was once known as a subway entrance transformed into a masterpiece tunnel fixture with round ceilings and dim lights is now known as one of New York City’s best kept secrets due to its low key, low lighting, peaceful aura.

The restaurant looks very nice and creates a very ambient mood. We had three course meals each and the first two courses were great – loved the salmon and the venison. Desert sadly was a miss, because there was mold in it (one pie) and we had to send it away. The waiter handled it like a pro, but the dinner was ruined.

We just got some of the signature cocktails and split an order of the fried chicken. All I have to say is wow, that fried chicken was one of the best I’ve ever tasted and I’ve had a lot in my life. Combined with the sauce and potatoes it was delicious!

I went here for a client breakfast. It’s in Times Square. Don’t confuse this for the Charlie Palmer Steak house. Ambience is good but food not so great. Got the a la carte menu for breakfast. Everything tasted just ok!
