We have eaten here several times because we like the atmosphere and theres not many other options around here. We live in Counce so we aren’t tourists. Food is way overpriced for what you get. I guess they aim to milk the tourists and retirees. Service is always slow as well as food time. No sense of urgency. We came tonight for the bingo night. Walked up to be seated. Girl walks up and said I’ll be right back… never came back. Another young lady sat us at this tiny 2 seat table. Ok. They were pretty full so no big deal. We sat for 7 minutes, no one acknowledged our presence. Then I saw someone who worked there and kindly said, can we get our server? No ones been to our table yet…. I got “ok”…. then a couple minutes later, this older lady walks up, looks at us and goes HI in a very non friendly way. “Do you just want drinks to start or are you ready to order?”. We decided just to get a couple of waters cause i dont drink coke or tea and my partner is pre-diabetic so hes trying to be mindful of his sugar intake. I asked for lemon with mine…. she comes back a couple minutes later sits the waters down, no lemon. Walks off. Comes back again a couple minutes later with 2 more waters. “Know what you want?” I said yes we are gonna get the catfish platter with green beans and ranch for the salad, and an extra plate cause we’re gonna share. She goes “oh you’re sharing it?” Yes. Anyways, from that point I think maybe she thought we were poor cause we ordered 2 waters and shared a plate? Cause we got terrible/no service from her the remainder of the time we were there. But she was paying extra attention to the 2 larger tables of elderly people who were drinking beer and wine next to us. I had to get up to ask her if they could bring a cup of coffee out for my partner. She goes “I guess, i dont know if they have any, I guess I can see if they can make some” she brings the coffee. We waited for literally almost an hour for our food. I asked to add a baked potato to our order “we’re out”…… not would you like something different we have blah blah blah…… nope. Someone else brought our food out, (which was barely warm) She didnt take a single thing off of our table (dirty dishes) I refilled my own water glass with the extra ones she brought when we first sat down. Had to get up to ask for our check, she literally tossed it onto my pocketbook that was sitting on the table and walked off without saying a word. Not I’ll take that when yall are ready, would you like some dessert?…. very rude woman from New York. She should go back. I hope she gets to see this review. We tip based upon our service. Its not an entitlement. We get bad service, you get a bad tip. Im not 60 years old waiting tables sweetheart. You shouldn’t make ignorant speculations about people. I worked in restaurants for 10 years in my younger years. This place clearly has poor management/careless employees. IF we do come back to eat here again, we will specifically request another server besides her. As far as the Bingo goes, it was fun but for the prices of the food items and the prizes they are giving for winning, its a joke. 95% of the prizes were items from the dollar store. And a plate of food here costs $17. You make a food purchase you get 1 bingo card and to be dressed up to match the theme you get 1 additional bingo card. If you win you get tokens to get a prize. Each game the winner got between 4 & 6 tokens. And I guess they want you to go every month for 3 years to get enough tokens to “win” a free night at the lodge, which was 40 tokens. 2 nights I believe was 60 tokens. Come on yall this isnt Chuck E Cheese. Look at the amount of money you raked in just tonight from this event and you’re giving away dollar store items you need tokens for as prizes? You should be ashamed. And our Tennessee taxpaying dollars pay to fund this event.

Stephanie was our server. I have to say, she made our night very special. We came to town late, and right before a major holiday. The servers were stretched thin and running. She was very accommodating with our food, suggested great drinks that she personally had made with care, for us (and the kids!). It really made our visit so fun. It was a nice surprise to find someone so attentive and knowledgeable about cocktails during our brief stay. We were very happy to have that time in the lodge hanging out.
If you’re around, I’d recommend chilling out and letting Stephanie and the sweet, hardworking folks around the lodge take care of you.

Plenty of food for the buffet lunch.
During our visit, we tried both buffet lunch and ordered from the menu – veggie wrap, pasta primavera and grilled cheese for the kids.
On the buffet were plenty of items – fried cat fish, ribeye, bacon, mashed potatoes and so on .. including salad bar and pasta bar, along with few deserts.
Overall, a clean and nice place with some great view overlooking the river.
We had some issue with he fruit bowl – they were all rotten and can’t think why would they even bring them out.

I can not say enough good things about this restaurant! We arrived at the lodge on 1/11/24 to 1/15/24 and were here through the winter storm in which our flights were canceled. We weathered out the storm here, and the staff in this restaurant have gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Not only are they kind, but the food they provided has been excellent! They had a limited menu (to be expected when the town is shut down), and through this, their daily lunch and dinner menus have been hot comfort foods that have been absolutely delicious! We eat here every time we visit this town and have enjoyed every meal, but this time is different. They treated us as family, and we will never forget this warming hospitality. If I could, I’d rate this place with 10 stars!

Few items, Buffet style, processed ham and Turkey roll, Dressing was a little dry with little flavor, Mashed potatoes were good, Green beans and carrots appeared to have been heated from canned. Gravy was nearly tasteless. Only dessert was Peach cobbler (ok at best) The advertised cakes were not present.
I try to support the parks but it was difficult to endure such mediocrity.
Hope they will get it together for a more enjoyable Christmas! The location is excellent, the area is clean, and my servers were very good, attentive and personable; if not for them the experience would have been unbearable.

The restaurant itself is a beautiful place. We sat by the windows for a view of the lake and dam. Host seemed short on hospitality. When she walked up she just stared at me for a few seconds until I said we’d like to eat. Our waitress was great. I wish I remember her name because she deserves a shout out. The food.. well.. it was ok. Before choosing we got informed they were out of baked potatoes and french fries. The kids got chicken tenders. They looked fresh and were well received by experienced chicken tender critics. Wife got a bowl of “vegetable beef soup”, but it was more like a bowl of turnip greens with some random other things mixed in lightly. I got chicken alfredo with sweet potato fries. Taste was average, portion size was good. Overall experience, 3-stars. Service and atmosphere made up a lot for the average food.

Had delicious breakfast omelets ordered off the menu, and they have the buffet as well. The food was tasty, prices very reasonable, the staff was super nice, and we got to eat while enjoying a great view of the lake.

We have our family reunion here every year and we love that they accommodate all of us and always are so kind. The food is good but, it is the beauty all around that makes the sell on the Captain’s Galley in the Pickwick Landing State Park Inn. Of you are on the area you have got to stay here…what they lack in frills they make up on beautiful views!
