Not a great experience. The guy at the counter wasn’t the friendliest. I think he was the owner. Thankfully the guy who handed us our food was very nice. Ordered chili cheese dog. Not sure I’d call it a hot dog. More like a small beef stick. I appreciated the price and variety of the menu but the end product was quite a disappointment.

Coney Island Station in Holmen stands out with friendly staff in a sparling midwestern community. What did not stand out for me was it’s hot dogs. I had low expectations, and they were met. I will say though I left fed and was just satisfied with what I paid. Compared to everywhere else the food is affordable and it stands out for getting an affordable adequate meal. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, but shows age in a good way. I think it is worth the stop if you are nearby looking for food, but I don’t think it is really worth going out of your way’s travel to stop for. If you live in the area though, I think this is a great place to start visiting. They take time to know their regular customers and make sure they are always welcomed with the best of service.

Do not let the three stars deter you from stopping by and enjoying some nostalgic, straightforward food. It was good. Simple, but good. Nothing was overly seasoned or had too much spice. In fact, I wish the chili itself had a bit more kick and or flavor, but otherwise the hot dogs had that snap, the fries were fresh.
The front seemed pretty kept up and clean, but the bathrooms could have used some freshening up and we simply avoided them completely.
Service was all right. We did get our food pretty quickly which was nice. I also liked that the table was able to be adjusted to be more accessible.
We will definitely be stopping in again.

Went in tonight for dinner with some friends and their kids. Realized we only had 30 minutes before close so we were conscious of that and actually hurried with the kids. I’m not sure if it was my rainbow hat. The fact that we ordered 20 minutes before they closed the fact that it was night out in Holman. Or maybe the owner was just crabby. I’ve been in there four times in the last two months he has been friendly the first three times. Of course it wasn’t right before closing time those other days. He was Not friendly from the second, I walked in to the second we walked out. Now if you’re upset because of my hat, don’t take my money. If you’re upset because we are 20 Minutes before closing time then tell us we are out of hotdog and you’re just about to close. If you’re upset because there were kids that we brought then don’t have high chairs and don’t take our money. If you’re upset because we left a piece of paper on the chair and the highchair over there then don’t take my $30. If you’re upset because you wanna Go Out and enjoy the night out in Holman then close early you clearly own the building you own the restaurant you have the opportunity to close it whenever you want. Do not be crabby with your customers don’t walk away from them with your backs to them when they walk in to order don’t shake your head at your son or your employee whichever it was don’t avoid eye contact and don’t shake your head after we leave because you have to wash some trays that we had two of them in that stack And if you don’t wanna clean up after us don’t own a business. We spent money in there. We expect some good customer service. I’ve had it in the past if you’re not happy with any of those things don’t do it say no say we’re closing say anything, but don’t be rude. Have your son or your Employee take the order if you’re crabby. Either way look at what your Employee or son learned about customer service tonight. I think you should’ve been grateful that we bought the last year hotdogs before you closed so you didn’t have to throw them away and waste them. I’m very disappointed and like I said, I’ve been there four times in the last two months so I clearly like Coney Island, but I won’t be back because of this one experience ,that was uncalled for.

Food good as usual but looking around was afraid to eat it. Walked in just after they opened. Counter horrific and messy. Cashier’s shirt full of bleach stains and hat backwards which isn’t very professional. Same guy sat behind Counter on phone then started eating something in a big container behind Counter in front of customers. 5 mins after opening!! Seating dusty and what looked like smeared food by Counter in front of windows. I went out of way to come to this one and totally regret it.

Arrived at the restaurant, which was not so busy. Only 3 people inside dining in. The cashier was an older guy who carried himself like he did not want to be at work and was somewhat rude. The hot dogs were delicious but very thin. The fries however was really nice hot and very delicious. Would recommend for taste and would go back again.

Listen, if you going here looking for a gourmet experience, then you are in the wrong place. However, if you are in it for a solid trip to the past when times were simpler and you could just enjoy a chili dog, then you’ve come to the right place.
Coney Island has been a part of my life in this area since I was a kid. Everything I eat there it takes me back to then and is always full of happy memories. The food has always remained the same recipe and is always delicious. The staff have always been absolutely great. I very highly recommend this place.

Owner and his brother were extremely rude. They saw me see them reheat fries that had already been cooked. Mocked us as customers and started a verbal altercation about us asking counter worker for light on the chili on our hot dogs of all things to be disrespectful about. Worker also went out back door to do whatever and never washed his hands when he returned. I do not recommend this establishment.

My husband and I LOVE this place!!! We love the nostalgic hotdogs, plus they taste great too!! Chili dogs are our favorite 🙂 Not only are the hotdogs fantastic, their fries are the BEST! Their onion rings are wonderful as well! We absolutely adore stopping in saying “hey” to the guys working, they remember us when we only stop in during the summers on our way to our camper. If you are in the area, you need to stop by here!! Super fun atmosphere and delicious food, you can’t go wrong!

There was 1 person in line when I entered the restaurant. After helping the customer in front of me, he ignored me and began doing odds and ends behind the register.
He even glanced in my direction a few times giving me the stink eye. He made me feel like I made a mistake choosing their restaurant. After a few minutes he finally came up to take my order. From reading the other reviews it seems like they don’t have any real customer service skills, and that was definitely my experience.
I initially forgot why I stopped eating there years ago, but this visit reminded me. I decided I’d leave a review so I don’t forget this time 😉
