I’ve had several enjoyable visits to Bar Enza but the most recent stand out because the menu options just keep getting better! During my last visit, Katia was behind the bar and she delighted me with her amazing signature cocktail, “Pomo di Katia”. It’s vibrant and refreshing, with a touch of citrus. It’s absolutely delicious — your taste buds will thank you! Katia is fantastic, but if she’s not working, the equally talented and friendly Ali will create a cocktail that will thrill your palette.

I started my meal with the rich, flavorful and creamy celery root soup (in the photos). It’s very satisfying and my favorite way to start a meal in the cold weather. I followed the soup with the red snapper special that came with gnocchi and asparagus (also in the photos with Katia’s special cocktail). Everything was perfectly cooked, tender and well-seasoned. I added a side of creamed spinach and I liked that it emphasized the spinach more than the cream. It has texture and you can really taste the spinach unlike other creamed spinach dishes I’ve had. I also included a photo of the delectable tomahawk pork chop entree that I had during an earlier visit. It’s a generous portion with a savory, mouth-watering glaze that’s exploding with flavor — highly recommended!

I also want to mention my appreciation of the manager Ana. She’s welcoming and personable, and she works hard to make sure you’re well taken care of. Ana is the best!

Thank you, Ana, Katia, and Ali!

What a meal! Really nice space on 2nd floor of hotel. Not noisy at all. Had 7:15 reservation on Saturday night. Greeted by friendly host who promptly sat us on time. Waitress Barbara was extremely friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. She was happy to be working there. Our food was delicious. Bread basket very creative. Just try it. You’ll see! Started with Tuna Tartar which was very fresh, served at a perfect chilled temperature, just creamy enough. It was very good. The Enza salad has different varieties of beets and citrus with a bright dressing and pistachios. Gave us a good summer feel on a cold winter night. The pork chop was served off the bone was cooked to perfection with a nice char and served with an onion chutney or something. Absolutely delicious. The flat iron steak was cooked medium rare and served with a nice sauce. We had the chocolate torte for dessert that came with a cream sauce that I finally gave up trying to identify and when told it was a Marsala reduction it hit me. YES! The drinks and wines are excellent. This restaurant is going in my top 5 Boston area spots. We will definitely be going back.

Update 8.2025
The service was much improved. Noise level pretty high and the place was half full. The fish was excellent. The Pappa al pomodoro was bland. The tiramisu has no coffee in it and they used millefoglie instead of biscuits so it was more like ‘smores than tiramisu.

Updated 2.2024.
The service was mediocre (I watched the ice melt into my negroni for 10 minutes before I actually got to drink it). The food was ok. Fritto misto was really good. Mushrooms pears and taleggio not so much. It was a lot louder this time too.

And the bill felt a bit steep. Over $100/person for a drink, an antipasto and a primo.

The polpettone and especially the broccoli they brought with it were very good. Also the soffritto toscano with olives.

Had an amazing experience at Bar Enza!
The food was genuinely delicious, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. But the highlight of my visit was definitely the service — our waitress, Barbara, was incredible. She was so kind, attentive, and had such a positive, uplifting energy that made the whole dining experience feel even better. You can really tell she cares about her guests.

Highly recommend coming here, and if you’re lucky enough to get Barbara as your server, you’re in great hands! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Deontae was fantastic. Led us through the menu and recommended best things on it. Had a perfect wine pairing with our pork milanese and tiramisu as dessert was fantastic. Will definitely be back 🙂

The food was very good. We went for the feast of seven fishes and did wine pairing with it. The wine was paired beautifully with food. The menu was selected carefully. The flavors of each dish were unique. We really enjoyed everything. We will be back for 100 layer lasagna, which was our favorite from our first visit, but we couldn’t have because we were full. And dorade fish and stuffed cabbage was incredibly tasty and highlight of the meal.

The menu was very appealing, and every dish sounded wonderful, especially the mushroom and lobster risotto. However, when it arrived, it didn’t quite match what I had envisioned. The presentation felt more like a creamy congee with sautéed mushrooms and a piece of lobster on top, rather than a traditional risotto. It simply wasn’t what I was expecting.
